The child became her best motivation.
Christine Carlos clearly remembers the moment when she realized that it was time to lose weight. It was on the beach 6 years ago. Here she is trying to play with her little daughter, but suffocates from terrible shortness of breath.
“I realized that I had become too big and lethargic for my child. That I should take myself, my health under control, not only for myself, but for the sake of my daughter, ”says the young mother.
This realization helped Christine lose 45 kilograms in a year.
“Slowly, gradually, I changed my habits,” says the young mother. By that time, the woman had read piles of magazines about health and weight loss, realizing that it was a very bad idea to go on a tough diet right off the bat.
At first, Christine gave up fried foods, changed refined foods (sausages, convenience foods, fast food) for vegetables and protein foods. Reduced the amount of carbohydrates to a minimum.
The typical menu for the day looked like this: oatmeal and eggs for breakfast, salad with homemade dressing for lunch, fish and vegetables for dinner. But once a week, Christine indulged herself with a burger and a serving of sweet fries.
To curb her appetite, the woman drank a lot of water – up to 4 liters per day. She even carried two-liter bottles with her as a reminder. When she was not thirsty at all, and the norm had to be met, Christine poured a calorie-free sweetener from a sports nutrition store into the water.
Gradually, sports appeared in a woman’s life. Christine worked on the treadmill for 45 minutes six days a week.
“At first, because of my size, I could only walk slowly, but progress started and eventually I started to run,” she says.
To diversify her activities, Christine included tabata training in her schedule. This is an intense interval training that aims to get as many movements as possible in a minimum amount of time. As the woman slowly but surely progressed, gym activities were added to her athletic life.
A year later, having lost 45 kg, Christine threw herself another challenge. She will be competing in a bikini competition.
“I thought it would be cool to set a new goal for myself that will push me to move on. Besides, I wanted to get out of my shell, ”the woman says.
To compete, she hired a weight trainer to help her with her weight training and nutrition plan.
“Weightlifting further accelerated my weight loss and really changed my body,” says Christine. The woman participated in the bikini competition for two years. And then she decided to relax the strict dietary restrictions and exercise regimen in order to devote more time to her family. Now five days a week she works with heavy weights and three days a week she does cardio for half an hour.
“I eat now, relying on intuition. I eat a lot of proteins, green vegetables, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats, without restricting myself on the amount eaten, ”says Christine.
After the woman left the competition, she gained about 7 kilograms, but she is now more than satisfied with her body.
“Start with small steps day after day,” the young mother advises. – Don’t think long term, just focus on what needs to be done at the moment. If you constantly think only about the end goal, it can be easily upset. Fintes is a lifelong journey. Failure on this path is normal, as long as you keep pushing yourself to progress. Most importantly, be kind to yourself and love the process. “
