Belinda Scott, a 29-year-old mother of two, is confident that her decision to unplug the plug was the best she ever made. The fact is that one day the woman realized: all these entertaining shows like Peppa Pig are not at all useful for her four-year-old daughter.

“I am absolutely sure that they teach children only one thing: to do stupid things and be rude. Well, words-parasites are inoculated, nothing more, – Belinda believes. “It’s very unpleasant to notice how your child picks up idiotic phrases from the characters of animated shows.”

Mom did not say that her daughter should no longer watch cartoons – the forbidden fruit, as you know, is sweet. She said the TV was broken. This turned out to be enough. After nine months of living without a TV, Belinda decided to take stock of her experiment. And it turned out that the vocabulary of four-year-old Lulu has grown significantly during this time. It turns out that the most useful thing in developing TV shows is their absence?

However, the development of speech is not the only positive point that Belinda noted. Lulu began to study better – the girl went to preparatory school just at the age of four.

“Lulu found it much easier to absorb new information,” says her mother.

In addition, the baby became calmer and more patient, the bouts of irritability almost disappeared, and even the quality of sleep improved. The latter, you see, is generally priceless.

But that’s not all. After all, not only children, but also adults abandoned the TV, and this also entailed some changes in the family life of Belinda and her husband.

“You know, I don’t miss TV at all. I feel great, not knowing what happened in some bay and some state there. But now we talk at dinner, we talk about things that are really important for our family. Our heads are not filled with empty news noise. My husband and I have become closer to each other. After all, when you sit and watch TV, it may seem like you are spending time together. But this is not the case. You just sit there, ”says Belinda.

What about entertainment? Instead of TV, Belinda turns on music and regularly throws dance parties for the children. They also go on hikes and walks with the whole family.

“Someday TV will return to my children’s lives. But definitely not a channel with a show like Peppa Pig or Charlie and Lola. Rather, these will be channels with truly informative programs, ”says Belinda.
