Model with eyebrows like Frida Kahlo’s biography of Scarlett Costello

19-year-old American student conquers the fashion world. Her business card is thick eyebrows that have grown together on the bridge of the nose.

Scarlett Costello is often compared to the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who lived in the first half of the XNUMXth century. They really have a lot in common – both the talent of the artist, and the external features: black hair, expressive eyes, plump lips … And, of course, a distinctive feature of both beauties is a monobrow! Moreover, both of them came to the conclusion that this “zest” should not be hidden, but emphasized.

When Scarlett was young, her bushy eyebrows were often the subject of ridicule. Her classmates, neighbors, even just unfamiliar passers-by on the street made fun of her! The resemblance to the famous artist helped out.

“I was strangely obsessed with Frida Kahlo from a very young age,” she said in an interview with Teen Vogue.

The family archive even preserved a photo of little Scarlett, dressed for one of the holidays in the costume of a famous artist.

Mom supported the future model in everything. She convinced that natural beauty is valued much more than invented standards, as if she knew in advance that it was thick eyebrows that would bring her daughter good luck and become a visiting card.

“Mom is an angel, a genius, a role model and the most reliable person I know,” says Scarlett Costello on her Instagram. “I’m so lucky.”

Yet as a teenager, Scarlett tried to fight the thick facial hair. When she was 15 years old, she made her eyebrows look like thin arrows, and began to pluck them mercilessly. But the hairs grew back very quickly. It helped that the fashion for thin eyebrows had just passed, and it turned out that nothing needed to be changed.

Soon the girl was noticed by employees of the Ford Paris modeling agency. They offered her a contract, in which a separate paragraph was written down the requirement not to change anything in her appearance. And they were right: the eyebrows became the very unique feature that made Costello recognizable.

Now she is very popular and in demand all over the world, posed for Converse, Nasty Gal, J Brand and other brands. On Instagram, models often receive not very pleasant comments from ill-wishers, but she does not react to them, knowing her worth and her characteristics. She plans to create a whole style and creative direction for girls with a monobrow. She carefully cares for the thick hairs of her eyebrows: she regularly rubs in castor oil, uses special styling products. Part of her shooting is also based on the fact that Scarlett shows overgrown armpits – another sign of fashion for naturalness.

Scarlett rarely publishes her model photos on social networks. More often than not, snapshots of the life of a Brooklyn College student are a four-year higher education institution that is part of the City University of New York. College education is subsidized by the state and is relatively inexpensive – about $ 2000 per semester (for comparison, at a prestigious private university, students pay about $ 15-17 thousand per semester). The college has a large campus where young people from different countries live. Costello, like other students, leads an active and democratic lifestyle – dancing, doing fitness, riding a skateboard, organizing picnics on the roof with friends and filming funny videos. And she draws a lot: Scarlett writes rather ambiguous pictures and already now considers herself an artist with a great future.

In an interview with glossy magazines, the girl does not talk about her personal life. Judging by her words, she is more passionate about her career and creativity. Until recently, no hints of a close relationship with anyone appeared on Instagram either. And yet, a couple of months ago, Costello posted a photo with a guy. True, the face of the young man lying next to her is covered. But the signature is eloquent – Scarlett put a heart and briefly wrote: “My guy” (my boyfriend).
