Nickel allergy is one of the most common types of contact dermatitis. In the UK, about 30% of the population suffers from this form of allergy. Most often it occurs in women from jewelry, in the manufacture of which nickel was used.
The rash appears on those parts of the body that are most often in contact with the apparatus, including it can occur on the fingers. American scientists completely agree with their colleagues from the UK: employees of the Mayo Clinic confirmed that the most common cause of contact allergies is nickel, which is contained in a wide variety of items – from buckles and buttons to jewelry.
On a phone, nickel can be found in the button plating, decorative logo, and shiny frames around the LCD. This metal is used by many cell manufacturers. In particular, when testing 22 popular mobile phone models, conducted this year by American scientists from Brown University, nickel was found in 10 of them, the study showed.
Recall that the discussion about the possible dangers of mobile phones has been going on since they first appeared on the market. Doctors note that over the past two decades, the number of patients with brain cancer has increased dramatically. However, most of the research does not confirm the effect of cellular communication on the occurrence of cancer.
At the same time, experts from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, found that prolonged cell phone calls are bad for teenage sleep. According to scientists, the constant use of a cell phone leads to disturbances in biological rhythms, constant excitement, stress and fatigue.
