Missing 46-year-old woman found alive two years later

This story may well become the basis for a Hollywood drama. Back in 2018, a family from Colombia lost their mom. 46-year-old Angelica Gaitan seemed to have disappeared – her family seemed to be looking for her everywhere, but to no avail. The police were also unable to find any leads.

Investigators put forward a variety of versions of what happened. Even depressed suicide or violent death at the hands of a lover was practiced. Angelica’s daughter Alejandra no longer even hoped to see her mother alive.

And suddenly, two years later, the woman was found, and there, where no one even thought to look for her.

Gaitan’s body, drifting on the waves off the beach in Puerto Colombia, was discovered by a local fisherman. He immediately rushed to help and pulled the woman out. She was unconscious and with signs of hypothermia, but alive.

The woman was taken to the police station, where the guards found that she was the very same mother of the family who disappeared two years ago. When Angelica came to her senses, she told what happened to her.

It turns out that Gaitan fled, because her husband had been beating her for 20 years, and she was no longer going to endure it.

“He beat me during my first and second pregnancies. I wrote statements against him many times, but the police took him away for 24 hours, and then he came home again and beat me. In September 2018, he tried to kill me. Thank God I managed to escape, ”the woman said.

For some time she lived in a shelter and did not contact her relatives so that her husband could not find her. However, even there she was not happy. Companions in misfortune bullied her, insulted her, turned off the water when she took a shower, and even added soapy water to her juice.

The woman developed severe depression, and in the end she realized that she no longer wanted to live.

Angelica took money from a friend and bought a bus ticket to go to the sea. There, the fugitive planned to put an end to everything.

How Gaitan threw herself into the sea, she no longer remembers – she lost consciousness. How long she has been in the water, the woman also does not know. Angelica knows only one thing – she is very grateful that she was saved.

Thank God I’m alive. I was taken to a polyclinic, where they provided me with all the necessary assistance. “

Doctors suggest that Gaitan drifted on the waves for about 8 hours.

Now Alejandra is going to move her mother to Bogota to finally live together as a family.
