Miss Russia Polina Popova at the Miss World pageant: latest news 2017
On November 18, China will host the Miss World contest, where our country is represented by 22-year-old Polina Popova from Yekaterinburg. In April she became Miss Russia, and since then her life has been like a cycle of bright events. Woman`s Day found out what the Uralochka had been doing for these 8 months, how she is now preparing for the final and how she stands out from the background of other participants.
This year, three participants from the Sverdlovsk region came to Miss Russia at once: Miss Yekaterinburg – 2016 Elizaveta Anikhovskaya, Elizaveta Savicheva from Berezovsky and Polina Popova, who has worked as a model since 15 years (mainly in Asian countries) and never in competitions did not participate. Her height is 173 cm, parameters: 86–61–86 cm. And she was chosen as the main beauty of the country!
One of the prizes for winning Miss Russia is a car
Polina received a crown worth 1 million rubles, a Hyundai Solaris car, a 12-carat necklace, 3 million rubles and the opportunity to study at any university in the world. By the way, the queen turned out to be modest: she could have chosen Harvard or Oxford, but settled on a capital university and the profession of a journalist. Polina did not manage to get a higher education, because after school she immediately signed a contract with a modeling agency and flew to Hong Kong. She also worked in Singapore, Europe, USA, and lived in China for over a year. Therefore, the beauty speaks two foreign languages - English and Chinese, which greatly helps her now, in China, in preparation for Miss World.
Polina is a good hostess. She says that this is how her mother raised her: she taught how to cook soups, pies, sweets and even complex dishes. Even Polina’s favorite beauty product is coconut oil, which is great for both body and cooking.
Living with a crown on your head
After winning the Miss Russia contest, Polina immediately went on air to Ivan Urgant on Channel One. There she told how she went through the casting, about her modeling career, preparations for the finals and plans for the future. This was followed by numerous press conferences, interviews on the radio, for magazines, websites and, of course, what Popova is special in – photography.
There were also social events in different cities of Russia. She judged Fashion Games (the battle of young designers), arranged autograph sessions, walked to museums …
All queens are required to do charity work. Polina Popova supported the running marathon “I’m running for a miracle”, HIV prevention, in Ulan-Ude promoted free surgical care for children with congenital cleft lip and palate. She attended the international environmental water forum. Was at the opening of the Confederations Cup and the Moscow International Film Festival. Of course, there were also pleasant events for any girl: presentations, sales night, make-up master classes, shopping and fashion shows. And Polina did not allow herself to relax and periodically posted photos from the gym.
In the summer, the beauty’s schedule was scheduled every minute, because it’s time for beauty contests. She judged the Miss Yekaterinburg 2017 contest together with Sofia Nikitchuk and supported the Irkutsk women who auditioned for the Miss Russia 2018 contest. She stayed in Irkutsk for several days: she flew over the city in a helicopter, visited Baikal, watched a seal show and even drew one animal.
Polina Popova also attended the Muz TV award and, together with Philip Kirkorov, awarded the singer of the year – Svetlana Loboda.
And of course, she traveled a lot: Spain, France, St. Petersburg. She spent her vacation in Greece, on the sharp Mikono, from where she posted a lot of gorgeous photos in swimsuits.
This year the competition will be held in Guangzhou. On October 21, Polina posted the first photo from there: she is in the company of representatives of Mongolia, Ukraine, China and Macau. Photos with her rivals Russian woman signs: “We are so different, but still together.” Subscribers, of course, support their idol and wish her victory in the competition.
By the way, the seals that Polina got into in Irkutsk became the topic of her charity project.
– I believe that there are more good people, I believe that the right values should be a priority, and, of course, I believe in love and goodness. At the press conference, I spoke about my charitable project to protect the Baikal seals, which I presented at the international Miss World contest. Unfortunately, many of you are not familiar with these wonderful endemics of Lake Baikal, and even more so they do not know that these unique animals have begun to be exterminated. During my trip to Lake Baikal, I learned so much about them that it’s scary to think that a seal can be killed. But there is indeed an active commercial hunt for her, especially for cubs of seals. As an ambassador of the youth movement “ECO-generation”, I ask all of you not to remain indifferent to this problem, and to try to attract as much attention as possible to the protection of the Baikal seals, especially their cubs. Let’s together protect the Baikal seals and contribute to the inclusion of these animals in the main legal section of the Red Book!
She even brought with her plush seals, with which other girls also take pictures. Everything was fine until Polina found out that, for some unknown reason, there is now a massive death of these cute animals:
– Friends, as you remember, my charitable project for the Miss World contest is dedicated to the protection of unique Baikal seals. The other day I learned that quite recently, for some unknown reason, there was the most massive death of Baikal seals over the past 30 years!
The circumstances of this tragedy are still being investigated, and despite the fact that I am in China preparing for the final of the international competition, I constantly observe the development of the situation and am ready to provide assistance and participation, if necessary.
In China, the girl feels at home. She smiles, makes friends with the contestants, enjoys every day. By the way, in one photo, Polina appeared in the form of a queen. She says that everyone falls in love with her dress, which was prepared for her by designer Gleb Vinokurov. And even Polina manages to play music in China. She admitted that as a child she studied at a music school and was happy to play again after a long time.
