Alina Goncharova entered the top 12 most beautiful girls in the country and told Woman’s Day what lessons she learned from the competition.
The final of the Miss Russia 2016 contest was held in Moscow. The crown was tried on by Yana Dobrovolskaya from Tyumen. However, Alina Goncharova, representing Rostov-on-Don, collected all the “likes” from rivals and celebrities.
– I am sincerely glad to be in the top 12, – said the girl. – There were a lot of worthy girls! Whether the jury’s decision is fair or not, I cannot argue, because I knew that I was going to a beauty contest, not a long jump competition, where the indicator is “transparent” and numerical. The Directorate of the Competition has its own views.
– It is much more important that almost all the girls, before the results were announced after the intellectual competition, came up and said that they were rooting for me! And the next day they said that they would like me to go from Russia to the Miss Universe contest. It was more pleasant than any result and opinion of the jury. Here, even in social networks, I was offered a second citizenship to take and represent another country at an international competition!
– After the final, so many celebrities, all the Miss Russia winners of the past years came up to me and said that they were sure to the last that I would take the first place! No, I didn’t feel envy from the participants at all. On the contrary, the girls said at the final casting that I looked like Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio.
– After participating in the Miss Russia 2016 contest, I learned a few lessons.
Smile
There is always a reason to smile in life, we just tend to forget about it. At the competition, we were taught that a smile should be open and kind. But if you feel that the smile will be strained and unnatural, smile only with your eyes. But remember that only a sincere smile can melt any heart.
Do not be afraid of comparisons, but compare yourself only to yourself
Every day we were told: “You walk worse than her,” “Her hips move better,” etc. This is not bad, listen to advice, but try to be better than yourself and not the other girl. This is the only correct way.
Do not be afraid of criticism
In addition to comparisons, we were criticized every day by teachers, strangers on social networks. It is important not to close oneself off from criticism, to be able to accept and listen to it, to separate healthy criticism from sarcasm and envy. Learning to accept criticism and treat it calmly, we all get better.
Learn to listen
During the preparation, 49 more girls lived with me, with whom we spent a lot of time. Each is interesting as a person, each has its own destiny, so I tried not only to tell the girls who I am, but also to get to know them better. I am convinced that everyone can teach you something, you just need to be able to hear this lesson.
Always be queen
In any situation. When you brush your teeth, eat breakfast, or go for a walk. It doesn’t matter if you are a beauty queen or not. During the competition, I understood what it means to be a queen. This does not mean to be better than someone, no. This means that you have to behave with dignity and be worthy so that other people can follow your example. Being a queen is something that every woman must carry through her entire life.
