She was treated for a long time and was already thinking about IVF, but everything happened naturally.
29-year-old Englishwoman Shannon Steele wasted no time on self-isolation. The woman became pregnant with triplets, although she had suffered from infertility for many years. And even IVF was not needed – everything happened by itself.
At the age of 15, Chenon was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. It is a hormonal disorder that changes the structure of the ovaries, leading to infertility. And three years ago, the woman was diagnosed with a thyroid disease, which further exacerbated the situation.
“I always wanted to be a mother, even went to work as a nurse to take care of someone,” she says.
For several years, Chenon and her husband tried to conceive a child.
I had to take medications with strong side effects, because of which I constantly sweated terribly. Every day I gave myself injections. At some point, I stopped doing pregnancy tests – I was tired of seeing a negative result every time.
The couple already thought about IVF, but during self-isolation, the woman became pregnant, and immediately with triplets!
“Finally I dared to do the test, and it turned out to be positive! I didn’t believe it and made two more tests. Both clearly showed two stripes. And that’s when I burst into tears. My husband thought that this was my reaction to another unsuccessful attempt to get pregnant. And when he found out about a positive result, he began to laugh. I laughed for ages – I was overjoyed ”, – tells about the emotional moment of Chenon.
Now, with a smile, Chenon recalls their first reaction with her husband when they found out about triplets.
– I see them! – said the doctor on the ultrasound.
– Them? Are we going to have twins? My husband asked in absolute shock.
– Triplets! – answered the doctor.
“We hardly spoke for the rest of the day. There were so many thoughts in my head. How do we pull three children? How can I endure them? After all, I have always been thin by nature. How will I deal with three babies when my husband goes to work? But over time, these worries receded into the background. There is confidence that we will be able to do it. “
“Twins were born in our family,” continues Chenon. – My cousins, for example. And my great-grandmother is also a twin, she has a sister. But I didn’t expect this to happen to me either. Moreover, not two, but three. “
Upon learning of the pregnancy, Chenon literally locked herself at home. She strictly observed self-isolation, not going outside for weeks. Fortunately, the employer met her halfway by allowing her to work remotely, which is an exceptional practice for nurses.
By the way, Chenon and her husband did not begin to find out the gender of the children in advance. We decided that it would be a surprise. And the most difficult moment was shopping for future kids: the girl does not like online shopping, but there is no other way now. In addition, the family will clearly have to buy a bigger car.
“Now I try to just relax and safely reach the planned date of the Caesarean, – confesses Chenon. “And then we will have a completely different life.”
