Staying active at the fitness center isn’t the only way to stay healthy. Those who spend long hours in the office can take care of themselves without leaving their desk: regular two to three minutes of intense exercise can improve well-being just like long workouts. Biologist James A. Timmons from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland) found that, for example, only 12-15 minutes per day of exercise bike (6 sessions of 4-6 thirty-second episodes) is enough to improve metabolism glucose, the violation of which leads to type 23 diabetes, obesity and problems with the heart. After two weeks of such exercises, the sensitivity of cells to insulin increases by 18%, and the muscles absorb glucose more actively by XNUMX%. However, the key to success is still regular exercise.
