From Monday, March 28, we endure isolation and quarantine for co-household members, as well as all entry quarantines – said Adam Niedzielski during the Thursday press conference.
The minister announced that the obligation to wear masks will end on March 28.
– The second decision is the abolition of home isolation and quarantine for co-household members, as well as all quarantines related to entry to Poland. Two caveats remain: patients who are identified as infected will normally be referred for sick leave. Being aware of the danger, they will have to isolate themselves at home, but these isolations will no longer be managed by the Sanepid – explained the head of the Ministry of Health.
– The second reservation is that if there are outbreaks, the Department of Health and Safety may still impose quarantine and isolation. However, these tools will be used in special situations – said Niedzielski.
– Patients identified as infected will receive sick leave and will be treated and self-isolated. If there are outbreaks of the disease – the Department of Health and Safety will still be able to impose the obligation of isolation – explained the Minister of Health.
– The pandemic is not over, we are carrying out the activities that we have carried out so far. As soon as we determine that there is a greater risk of spreading, we will apply quarantine. We will monitor the situation and act so as to prevent the spread of epidemiological threats – added Krzysztof Saczka, acting Chief Sanitary Inspector.
We are dealing with a dominant mutation. The situation may change. We must be ready to identify risks and counteract them.

Will a person who test positive be able to go to work? – asked during the conference. – Going to work would be irresponsible. If the doctor decides, he will issue a sick leave and impose home isolation – explained Niedzielski. – We want to treat COVID-19 in the same way as any other infectious disease. If we are sick, the doctor sends us on sick leave, and we, as the responsible persons, decide on it, added Wojciech Andrusiewicz, spokesman for the Ministry of Health.
What if someone takes the test but doesn’t reveal the result because they don’t want to go on leave? – From April 1, the tests will be performed only on medical orders – said the Minister of Health.
