Minister of Health: we will help the injured, Poland will stand by Ukraine

In difficult times, Poland will stand by Ukraine and its citizens – said the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski on Thursday and declared that citizens of this country who will come to us fearing for their health and life, can count on access to medical care.

«Every citizen of Ukraine who comes to Poland fearing for his health and life can count on access to medical care»- the head of the Ministry of Health reported on Twitter on Thursday.

“We will also help the injured, who will not be able to help the Ukrainian side,” declared Niedzielski. He assured that “in difficult times, Poland will stand by Ukraine and its citizens”.

MZ spokesman Wojciech Andrusiewicz, previously asked by PAP about the ministry’s actions in connection with the situation in Ukraine, assessed that we are prepared for the darkest scenarios.

«For many weeks we have been preparing to provide aid to our Ukrainian neighbors. We must ensure that everyone who comes to our country has trouble-free, ongoing access to medical care, including hospitalization ”- emphasized the spokesman of the Ministry of Health.

He added that the analyzes concerned, inter alia, the situation in Ukraine in terms of epidemics, including diseases occurring there.

“All this to prepare drugs and medical procedures to treat patients, often for those diseases that occur marginally in Poland” – he explained.

Andrusiewicz said that “full logistics for the collection and transport of the wounded were also developed, including the designation of hospitals to which they would go”.
