Milocardin can be used in the treatment of excessive nervous excitability, in functional disorders of the circulatory system manifested by sinus tachycardia and in increased peristaltics of the large intestine. In addition, Milocardin is used in the treatment of all forms of mild vegetative neurosis – a condition manifested by disorders of the vegetative system, the effect of which may be headaches and dizziness or spasms of certain parts of smooth or skeletal muscles, usually accompanied by psychological symptoms (manifested by feeling anxiety) and sleep problems. Currently, the drug is no longer produced.
Milocardin – action
Lek Milocardin in the form of oral drops, which contain two active substances: ethyl ester of α-bromoisovaleric acid and sodium phenobarbital. In addition, the preparation also includes ethyl alcohol, peppermint and hop oil, and other auxiliary substances. Bow Milocardin shows sedative, relaxing and hypnotic properties. It can support the regulation of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal functions. Phenobarbital, a derivative of barbituric acid, also has antiepileptic properties.
Milocardin – contraindications
Among the contraindications to the use of the drug Milocardin there are listed: hypersensitivity to active substances or any of the excipients. It cannot be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, liver damage, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain damage, mental diseases, porphyria.
Place in Milocardi should not be used in patients with respiratory failure, myasthenia gravis, Parkinson’s disease, myxedema, emphysema, renal failure, severe heart failure and in severe, depressive drug poisoning.
Milocardin and the use of other drugs
By using Milocardin, it should be remembered that this preparation may increase the effects of sedatives and alcohol. Exercise extreme caution when using Milocardin simultaneously with drugs metabolized in the liver, in particular: oral anticoagulants, glyco- and mineralocorticosteroids, cyclosporins, doxycycline, quinidine, theophylline and its derivatives, hydantoin derivatives, chlorpromazine, amitriptyline, phenylbutazone, metronidazole, digitoxin, vitamin Drenoxin, β-adrenoxin, β-adrenzeuline , chloramphenicol, oral contraceptives. In addition, special care should be taken when combining Milocardino with benzodiazepine derivatives, with antidepressants (except MAO inhibitors), with most H1 antihistamines, clonidine, sleeping pills, neuroleptics, morphine derivatives and alcohol.
