The delicate milky texture of natural extracts of cotton, papyrus, oats or rice takes care of our skin like a mother. And provides her with excellent nutrition.
The very word “cream” (English – cream, fr. – crème) means nothing more than “cream” – one of the most nutrient-dense dairy products. But in the composition of cosmetic creams, we are much more likely to meet not ordinary, but “vegetable milk” – a nutritious substance extracted from plants.
Although not an absolutely correct term – since only mammals produce real milk – the phrase “vegetable milk” carries images of abundance, tenderness and femininity. On the one hand, it evokes associations with milk – the first vital nutrition of the baby, feeding and motherhood, on the other – with the pacifying power of nature, the natural benefits that plants can bring.
“The nutritional composition of these herbal milks is close to animal milk,” says Magali Borel, director of marketing at Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, a cosmetics ingredients supplier. – In particular, they are very rich in fats, proteins and mineral salts. Helping to restore the structure of the skin, soften and form a protective film at the same time, they give softness and moisturizing properties to shower gels and are excellent hair conditioners. Vegetable milk – cotton, soy, papyrus, oatmeal, almond, coconut or rice – contains natural substances in a concentrated form and gives them to us, enveloping tenderness from head to toe.
