The benefits of rice porridge are enormous. This cereal is a source of B vitamins and is rich in potassium, phosphorus, iodine and iron. Lecithin, which is part of rice, stimulates the brain. And the protein contained in the cereal after heat treatment is easily absorbed by the body. In addition, the carbohydrates, which are high in rice, make porridge from this cereal an excellent source of energy for the whole day.
How to cook milk rice porridge
The instructions on how to cook rice porridge in milk are quite simple. To prepare this tasty and healthy dish, you need to take:
– 1 glass of rice; – 4 glasses of milk; – 1 tablespoon of sugar; – ½ teaspoon of salt.
Rice groats in milk boil much slower than in water, so it is recommended to cook the rice first in boiling water, then drain the excess water, add milk and cook the porridge until tender.
First, sort and rinse the rice. Then put it in boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes. Then place the rice in a colander or sieve. Boil the milk and salt it.
As soon as the water drains, transfer the cereal to a saucepan with salted hot milk and, stirring occasionally, cook the porridge over low heat for 15 minutes.
Add granulated sugar, stir well, cover the saucepan with porridge and put on a water bath for 10-15 minutes to simmer.
When serving, you can put a piece of butter in the rice porridge.
“Chocolate” rice porridge with milk
Rice porridge cooked according to this recipe has an exquisite taste and is an excellent dessert. It will require:
– 1 glass of rice; – 2 glasses of water; – 1,5 glasses of milk; – 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder; – 100 grams of sugar; – 50 grams of high fat heavy cream; – 50 grams of chocolate; – salt.
Sort the rice, rinse first with warm and then hot boiled water. Pour 2 cups of cold water into a saucepan, bring to a boil and season with salt. Pour cereals into boiling salted water and cook for 10 minutes. Then pour boiled milk into a saucepan with rice and continue to cook porridge until thickened.
Then add sugar, cocoa and cook for another 5 minutes. Put the finished “chocolate” rice porridge in oiled molds and refrigerate. Beat the cream into a thick foam with a mixer.
Before serving, turn the rice porridge tins onto a platter, decorate the resulting dessert with whipped cream and chocolate pieces.
To make rice porridge with pumpkin you will need:
– 1 cup rice; – 2 glasses of milk; – 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar; – 300 grams of pumpkin.
Pour half a glass of boiling water over the washed rice and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. In a separate bowl, bring the milk to a boil.
Cut the pumpkin pulp into small cubes, sprinkle with sugar and stand for 10 minutes. Pour hot milk into a saucepan with rice and add pumpkin and sugar. Cook the porridge for another 15 minutes.
Serve rice porridge with pumpkin with butter.
