Jelly is a low-calorie and very healthy product. Most often it is made from fruit juice. But if you prefer a milder flavor, try milk jelly. You can add chocolate, fruit, or make a multi-layered dessert from several types of jelly.
To prepare milk jelly, you can use milk of any fat content. If you prefer a richer flavor, add cream, and for a diet-friendly dessert, dilute the milk with water or fruit juice.
Jelly is prepared on gelatin or agar. The latter option is preferable: agar has no characteristic aftertaste and is ideal for making desserts. This product is sold in health food stores. If you can’t get it, use gelatin in plates or powder.
This jelly can be made large and served uncut. It looks very decorative and completely replaces the traditional cake.
You will need: – 600 ml of milk; – 4 teaspoons of powdered gelatin; – 3 tablespoons of sugar; – 500 g of strawberries.
Sort the strawberries, remove the sepals, rinse the berries thoroughly and pat dry on a towel. Set aside half of the strawberries, mash the remaining berries.
For milk jelly, use any fruits and berries, except kiwi, melon and grapes: they taste too delicate, and the dessert will turn out bland
Soak gelatin in a few tablespoons of cold water, then put the mixture on fire and, stirring, heat until the crystals are completely dissolved.
Heat milk with sugar in a separate container, stir. Add the melted gelatin to the milk mixture and leave to cool. Stir in the strawberry puree into a warm mixture and pour the mixture into a round shape with a notch in the middle.
Place the mold in the refrigerator until it hardens completely. Transfer the finished jelly to a flat dish, after dipping the mold in hot water. Cut the delayed strawberries into halves and fill the hole in the middle of the dessert with them. The jelly can be garnished with canned whipped cream.
For a children’s party or other celebration, prepare portioned jelly with a pleasant creamy chocolate taste.
You will need: – 300 ml of milk; – 300 ml of cream; – 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder; – 3 tablespoons of sugar; – 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar; – 50 g of dark chocolate. – 4 teaspoons of gelatin in powder.
Dissolve gelatin in 4 tablespoons of water and heat. Do not bring the mixture to a boil, this will impair the gelling properties of the product. Combine milk, cream and both types of sugar and heat on the stove until the sugar is completely dissolved. Combine the milk and gelatin mixture, stir thoroughly and leave to cool.
Break the chocolate into small pieces. Place the silicone portion molds on a flat dish, pour a little chocolate on the bottom of each. Pour the jelly, which is starting to set, into the molds and put the dish in the refrigerator. Before serving, dip each mold in hot water and place the dessert on a serving plate. Serve biscuits and vanilla sauce separately.
