Microwave: life hacks that few people use

As a rule, we only use this miracle machine to heat up food. And few people go to the PRO level when using the microwave. But with its help, you can solve much more problems in the kitchen than just add warmth to the food.

So what can you do with a microwave

Revive spices and herbs

If the spices have been in the jar for a long time and have lost some of their aromas, put them on a plate, put them in the microwave for 15 seconds, and warm them up. And immediately add to the dish. Spices seem to wake up from a long hibernation and generously share their taste and aroma.

 

Flabby dill, parsley and basil can be used further by putting the herbs on a towel and drying in the microwave. Then crumble and pour into a jar.

Reheat food expertly

  • For perfect hot sandwiches, they should not be placed in the center of the plate, but on the edge.

  • Pasta and buckwheat should be reheated, covered with a napkin or film. This will prevent them from drying out.

  • To prevent the pizza from becoming rubbery, place a glass of water next to the plate while heating.

Refresh the bread

Stale bread can be “made fresh” by wrapping it in a damp towel and heating it in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Prepare cappuccino froth

We take milk (but its fat content should be no more than 2%), pour it into a jar, close the lid and shake it. Immediately put in the microwave for 30 seconds (do not open the lid). Then remove the lid and heat the milk for another 30 seconds. We get milk froth.

Facilitate peeling of garlic 

To make the garlic easier to peel, we heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds. Then the husk is removed much faster and easier.

Peel tomatoes

Microwave the tomatoes for 30 seconds on high power. Then refrigerate for about 2-3 minutes and peel lightly. 

Prepare the dough

In order for the yeast dough to come up, you need to wait a couple of hours. The microwave makes the task at times easier. Cover the container with the dough with a towel and send it to the microwave for three minutes along with a glass of water. Set the power to less than average.

Then let the dough rest for 3 minutes and reheat for 3 minutes, then rest for another 6 minutes.

Roast the nuts

Place any nuts on a plate, drizzle with vegetable oil and microwave for 1 minute. Then remove the nuts, refrigerate, stir and microwave again for 1 minute. So repeat the process until the nuts are browned to the desired state.

Chop the onion without tears

We take the trimmed onion around the edges, put it on a plate and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. After that, no one will cry.

Melt the candied honey

We put the jar of honey, opening the lid, in the microwave for 30 seconds. The honey then becomes liquid and transparent.

Bake beets

We put the washed beets in a plastic bag, tie it on a knot and heat it in the microwave for 15 minutes. Then we take out the vegetable, cool it for 5 minutes and take it out of the bag.
