Plastic surgeon Michel Pfulg is a man known far beyond his native Switzerland. Rumor has it that it is he who corrects the noses and corrects the cheekbones of Hollywood stars. However, he does not comment on these rumors. And in general, he doesn’t like to talk about clients – it’s impossible, a medical secret. But she talks with pleasure about her discoveries in the field of beauty, about her collaboration with the Helena Rubinstein brand and about how to take care of her skin so that she does not have to resort to plastic surgery.
Well, I don’t know if that’s interesting… (Laughs) Three times a year we meet at the L’Oréal headquarters in Paris to discuss the creation of new products. We are biologists, cosmetologists, doctors, marketers. Each of us prepares for this meeting and offers some ideas of our own. Marketers talk about the needs of women, experts discuss ingredients, molecules …
And you?
I offer the company my experience in the field of cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. Many of our joint launches are inspired in one way or another by effective beauty treatments. For example, I was involved in the creation of Mesolift products, which reflect my experience in the field of mesotherapy; Laserist, inspired by laser treatments; HD Peel based on hardware peeling and so on. Since then, it has been that way – all our new launches have something in common with the procedures. And Helena Rubinstein products are suitable both for those who have not yet decided on plastic surgery, and for those who want to recover faster after it. Now we are actively engaged in regenerative medicine in the clinic, we work with stem cells. Of course, I also spoke about this at our meetings at L’Oréal.

Are Re-Plasty products really so effective that they can smooth out wrinkles and correct facial contours?
Yes, but the effect will not be immediate. In order for you to notice the result, you need to use the funds continuously for 2-3 months. Every day, morning and evening.
Have you ever advised patients who came to you with a request to do a facelift, cream instead of surgery?
It was business. But they were young women. I just said that it’s still too early for them to go under the surgeon’s knife. For older patients, I would rather recommend the cream as an addition to the operation – but, of course, not instead of it.
Does anyone from your inner circle use Re-Plasty products?
Yes, my wife. And I use them myself! (Laughs). Day Re-Plasty Age Recovery is my cream too!
By what signs can you tell that it’s time to use Re-Plasty anti-aging cream?
It is definitely not needed for young people with acne and oily skin. But, I think, when you are 30-35 years old, you can start using it – if not for the fight against aging, then at least for prevention.
Is it too late to use it at 50?
No, why! But, I think, you need to start caring for your skin all the same earlier. (Smiles). By the way, when I make the first incision during the operation, I immediately see if my patient uses a moisturizer and how often, if she has any health problems.
Really?
Yes. It happens that the skin immediately tears like paper – this is how, for example, the skin of smokers and diabetics behaves, it is thin and … some kind of brittle. And sometimes, even in aged patients, the skin is elastic, elastic, moisturized, and it is pleasant to work with it. The result of plastic surgery depends not only on the skill of the surgeon, but also on the initial quality of the skin. No plastic surgery will help to moisturize it. And she will not be able to improve her complexion either. You will have to take care of this yourself.
Yes. And rational nutrition. In Switzerland, more than one study was conducted on this subject and found that the biggest enemies of the skin are sugar and refined foods. And the best friends are vegetables of different colors, avocados, seeds, fish, vegetable oils. Do not forget about protein and water – it helps to remove toxins from the skin.
Do you give your clients beauty routine advice? In general, what do you think skin care for a woman 45+ should look like?
To be honest, I’m not a very big specialist in beauty routine. But, it seems to me, two or three high-quality products for daily care are enough. Cleanser, tonic, cream … The main thing is to use them regularly, and not occasionally.
