Micellar water as a new category of beauty products was invented in France, so it is not surprising that one of the most recognizable French brands releases a micellar product that meets the canons of the genre and the requirements of buyers.
Features of micellar water Garnier
And here’s what the test results collected during the launch of Garnier’s first micellar water in 2014 say.
97% of respondents from the first application appreciated and fell in love with this product;
99% of respondents liked this type of product;
94% of respondents said they would buy micellar water from Garnier.
Composition of micellar water Garnier
The main feature of this product is micelles, microscopic particles that have the ability to attract impurities (sebum, dust particles, dirt and makeup) and easily remove them from the skin.
Initially, a micelle-based aqueous solution was used to cleanse sensitive, reactive skin, as this product:
avoids excessive friction;
does not dry the skin, since micelles are non-aggressive surfactants (surfactants).
The Garnier micellar collection is a versatile classic product with a minimal set of ingredients. Also among Garnier micellar products there are alternative options, the formulas of which are enriched with additional components:
oils;
plant extracts;
hydrofixators;
ingredients for oily skin.
But in general, the composition of micellar water is concise, since its main mission is to easily and effortlessly remove impurities. And it is precisely micelles that cope with this task.
Varieties of micellar water
Today, Garnier’s portfolio includes four types of micellar water.
Classical, the very first, with which the acquaintance of consumers with micelles began. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.
Biphasic water with oils to remove stubborn makeup.
Micellar water with a mattifying effect for oily skin.
Micellar water with cornflower extract for comfortable make-up removal from the skin around the eyes.

And now let’s talk separately about each product and find out what real users think about them.
Funds overview
Micellar water for all skin types
Universal micellar water, which clearly demonstrates all the benefits of a cleanser in this format, allows you to remove makeup and impurities from the face, eyes, lips with one hand movement. All you have to do is soak a cotton pad and swipe it over your skin. There is no need to rub and zeal. Rinse is optional (but recommended). Special thanks for the solid volume of 700 ml, which is enough for 350 applications.
Micellar water with oils for removing stubborn makeup
And again, a statistic: every fourth woman uses waterproof mascara or persistent foundation. Bi-phase micellar water with added oils is just designed to eliminate them. Once on the surface of the skin, oil droplets dissolve persistent cosmetics, and micelles act like a magnet, capturing and removing dissolved makeup and impurities. So the makeup literally “slips” off the skin and eyelashes. And again – no friction, and therefore discomfort. Shake the bottle before use.
Micellar water “Clean Skin” for oily sensitive skin
This water is designed for skin that is familiar with the problem of greasy shine, which means that care with a matting effect is required. And this product provides it.
Micellar water “Ultra Care”, a two-phase cleanser for the face
Another two-phase make-up remover, this time enriched with cornflower blue water, which is suitable for sensitive eyelids and leaves a feeling of freshness and comfort immediately after cleansing.
Application rules
Micellar water is easy to use. However, we have a few life hacks.
When removing makeup, start from the eye area: moisten a cotton pad with micellar water, press it against the eyelids for 20 seconds, and then remove the makeup with light movements. Do not press or rub.
Use micellar water in the morning as a cleanser: wipe your face with it, and then rinse with water – micelles do an excellent job of removing sebum accumulated overnight.
If you prefer waterless cleansing, wipe your face with tonic.
By the way, about tonic: micellar water can be similar to it only externally. These are completely different products and they do not replace each other.
It is useful to get a portable format of a micellar product or pour it into a small bottle and put it in a cosmetic bag – there is no better way to touch up makeup during the day.
