After micellar water, which many of us can no longer do without, micellar shampoo has appeared in stores. What is it – and how is it different from the usual?
What is micellar shampoo?
Dermatocosmetologist, trichologist Maria Nevskaya explains what a micellar shampoo is: “This is a product that effectively cleanses and does not damage the hair. What is the difference between micellar shampoo and regular shampoo?
If you squeeze it into your palm, you will not see any difference with the usual shampoo. Well, except that the shampoo with micellar water is not as thick and maybe foams worse. In color, it is usually transparent, it smells unobtrusively (we most often came across products with a light herbal aroma). And in its composition, in addition to micelles:
essential and base oils;
herbal extracts.
All the same components are included in sulfate-free shampoos. But thanks to micelles (after all, they are surfactants, albeit non-aggressive), micellar shampoos, according to many users and experts, cleanse and wash their hair better.
Micellar shampoo can be used at least every day
Who is micellar shampoo suitable for?
In addition, cleansing with micellar shampoo is suitable for anyone who:
washes his head every day;
looking for an alternative to sulfate shampoos.
But for owners of dry scalp, it is better to prefer special moisturizing and nourishing products to micellar shampoo.
Micellar shampoos lather less and can be used up faster.
How to use micellar hair shampoo?
Use it as your hair gets dirty, at least every day if necessary.
Before use, mix a small amount with water and lather in the palms of your hands.
Apply the shampoo to damp hair, rub into the roots with massaging movements and rinse with warm water after 3-5 minutes. It is not necessary to apply micellar (like any other) shampoo to the hair, the foam flowing from the head is enough for them.
Repeat if necessary.
Use a balm or hair conditioner.
Micellar and sulfate-free shampoos are very similar, but the former cleanse better.
