The main component of the drug jest tiamazol. It is an active metabolite of carbimazole. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of thyroid hormones by inhibiting the absorption of iodine by tyrosine, which causes problems with hyperfunction of this organ and related diseases. The drug is absorbed very quickly – it reaches its maximum concentration in the blood after 30 minutes. The dosage and frequency of taking the drug is determined by the attending physician and depends on the type of problem and the age of the patient. Usually it is a maximum of 60 mg per day, divided into 4 doses. Treatment lasts for 2 to 8 weeks, depending on what your doctor recommends. Among the side effects taking the preparation Metizol taste disturbances as well as dizziness and nausea may occur. Metizol has a minor influence on the ability to drive and use machines. This drug may, in some cases, cause dizziness, so drivers should exercise extreme caution and refrain from driving when disturbing symptoms appear. It cannot be used by nursing or pregnant womenas the medicine is excreted into both the placenta and breast milk. If you are taking Metizol finds out that she is pregnant, she should stop taking the drug immediately and see an endocrinologist-gynecologist to switch the drug to prenatal time and breastfeeding. Consuming the drug during pregnancy will affect the fetus.
Metizol and side effects
