Meteorological dependence

Meteorological dependence

Interestingly, medical experts have not yet reached a consensus and have not developed universal recommendations as to where people get meteorological dependence and how to deal with it.

Meteorological dependence – in a nutshell, it is the body’s hypersensitivity to changes in weather conditions and climate: a person (and, first of all, his well-being) is completely dependent on changes in the weather. Before the rain, a terrible migraine can fall on, when the temperature drops, joints begin to ache, etc.

Why does it occur?

Some scientists claim that people with weather dependence so sensitive to changes in the weather due to the behavior of the carotid (or in other words, carotid) artery. When the pressure in the vessels suddenly drops, a reflex arises in the human body, which protects it from the collapse of the circulatory system. The signal from the spinal cord to the cerebral cortex, on the one hand, saves us from a complete cessation of blood circulation, and on the other hand, it negatively affects our health.

Other scientists believe that the main reason for meteorological dependence is the effect of weather conditions on cell membranes, as a result of which the production of certain metabolic products (for example, homotoxins) is activated in the body.

It is believed that the most convenient atmospheric pressure for people is 750 mm Hg. Any 7-8mmHg pressure drop during the day. has a negative impact on our health. Due to the decrease in the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, our respiratory system, heart and blood vessels are forced to work in emergency mode.

People who, even in good weather, have problems with the work of these organs, begin to experience signs of oxygen starvation – shortness of breath and general weakness.

People with meteorological dependence also suffer during magnetic storms, when blood, due to a change in its viscosity, circulates through the capillaries somewhat slower than usual, which leads to the development of tissue hypoxia. According to medical statistics, about 70% of heart attacks, strokes and hypertensive crises occur just during abrupt changes in the geomagnetic field.

How to deal with weather dependence?

It is unlikely that one can get rid of meteorological dependence completely, but meteosensitive people can alleviate their condition during sudden changes in the weather. First, you need to closely monitor the weather forecast. And on the eve of sharp changes in temperature or atmospheric pressure, take appropriate measures: eat light food, exclude spicy and fried foods, chocolate and alcohol from the diet. It will also be helpful to take a contrast shower. And during weather changes, you need to drink herbal teas, teas from chamomile, linden blossom or peppermint infusions.

And of course, on the day of the weather crisis, try not to overload yourself with business and rest more.
