The menu for an 8 month old baby can be supplemented with animal protein. It is necessary to introduce fish or meat into food. At this age, it is time for the baby to learn the taste of some dietary products.

Complementary nutrition for breastfeeding and artificial feeding

The correct choice of meat will not cause allergies. Diet types include turkey. Veal is controversial whether it can be attributed to dietary meat. Lamb and pork can be fatty. Chicken often causes allergies. Beef is more “mature” meat. If we are talking about animals raised on a personal subsidiary farm, then chicken meat is also suitable.

The menu for a child of 8 months includes mashed food

The meat should be puree on the menu. Peel it from films and veins, cook and grind with a blender. Add some breast milk or infant formula to the puree. If the child has already eaten vegetable puree, you can make a mixture of vegetables with meat, adding a little vegetable broth for a softer consistency. You don’t need to add meat broth. During cooking, it contains all the medicinal substances and hormones that were introduced to the animal during life.

Fish is an invaluable protein rich in minerals and vitamins. At least 2-3 times a week, the child needs to prepare fish puree. Like meat, it can be mixed with vegetables. Fish is easier to digest than meat, it is less high in calories. You need to give it boiled or steamed, mashed.

Not all types of fish are suitable for a baby. Preference should be given to lean varieties of sea fish, for example:

  • cod;
  • hake;
  • pink salmon;
  • in the pond.

From freshwater fauna representatives suitable for a baby: river trout, pike perch and carp. Avoid farmed fish such as Norwegian trout or salmon, pangasius and tilapia.

At this age, the toddler should eat 5 times a day. Morning and evening feeding should be allocated under breast milk or an artificial mixture:

  • 6.00 – breast milk – 200 ml.
  • 10.00 – porridge – 180 g; butter – ½ tsp; boiled yolk – ½ pcs.; fruit juice or puree – 30 g.
  • 14.00 – vegetable puree – 170 g; vegetable oil – ½ tsp; meat puree – 50 g; fruit juice – 50 ml.
  • 18.00 – cottage cheese – 40 g; fruit puree – 40 g; children’s kefir – 40 ml.
  • 22.00 – breast milk – 200 ml.

If the baby is allergic to milk, it is necessary to replace the butter with vegetable oil, and do the porridge without milk or with breastfeeding.

It’s time to introduce animal proteins into the menu for an 8-month-old baby. Low-fat dietary meat, alternating with sea fish, will perfectly fit into a child’s food.
