Many have heard of misogynists, some even managed to contact them, but most do not suspect that they live among us. It could be someone you trust more than yourself. An ex-boyfriend who is still interested in how you are, or a partner with whom you plan a future. Among them there are those who seem to defend women’s rights. Unfortunately, none of them have a warning label on their forehead.
What is misogyny?
The term “misogyny” refers to hatred, contempt and prejudice towards women and girls. Some don’t realize that they hate women. In most cases, misogyny develops involuntarily due to long-term trauma inflicted by a female representative whom the person trusted.
Whether it’s an abusive mother, a careless sister, a toxic girlfriend, a picky teacher, their behavior can plant harmful seeds in a man’s mindset. From an early age, his emotional perception can be distorted, and he will become an adult misogynist.
Also, harmful prejudices about women can be inherited: often a man, without noticing it, broadcasts messages to the world that he heard from his father, grandfather, older brother. His mother or sisters could silently endure attacks and cruel jokes from older relatives, fearing for their health or even life, and the boy grew up with the feeling that this is how one should treat the opposite sex.

- He studies the woman and assigns the target, the true intentions are carefully hidden, the girl may not notice anything and lose her vigilance. He is fun to be with, he knows how to impress and seems charming.
- Over time, in the image of Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde begins to peep through. Kindness and attractiveness are instantly replaced by rudeness and arrogance, a real social chameleon.
- He distributes sky-high promises, but never tries to fulfill them, but with male friends it’s different, he said – he did.

Misogyns don’t necessarily have the above habits, so they’re not easy to crack. Charisma and attractive appearance fascinate women, they stop picking up the signals: “Beware, there is a toxic person in front of you!”
