The composition of the Megace slurry

The active substance of Megace is micronized megestrol acetate. One milliliter of the drug contains 40 mg of megestrol acetate. The other ingredients found in Megaka are: citric acid anhydrous, polyethylene glycol 1450, fragrance essence, polysorbate 80, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate dihydrate, xanthan gum, purified water.

Megace comes in the form of a white suspension, placed in glass bottles of various weights: 120 ml,

240 ml or 480 ml. Additionally, Megace is placed in a cardboard box.

Megace is administered orally. Its use is to increase weight gain and improve appetite and

hunger. Megace is used for people suffering from anorexia, but also for those who have the disease

Who should not use Megace?

Megace should not be used by people who are allergic to any of the ingredients. It is also not suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women, some ingredients may pass into the baby’s body.

Side effects of Megace

Side effects may occur, but are not observed in every patient. For the most common

the following side effects may include: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, erectile dysfunction, weakness, rash. Most often, a large gain in weight is observed, which is the result of the use of Megestrol Acetate. Such action is desirable in people suffering from anorexia.

Storing Megace

Keep the bottle with the suspension out of the sight and reach of children. In addition, it should be stored at a temperature below 25 degrees. Do not eat the substance after the expiry date.
