Nikolai Ivanovich, good day! I write to thank and brag. On the «Successful Man» for the 1st course, they practiced «total yes» in groups on controversial issues. I liked it, I decided to take this experience to work. Before the general meeting, I told my colleagues 3 rules.
1. Criticism. If I want to oppose some idea, then I offer my idea in return or I remain silent. If there is a very strong doubt about the idea of the interlocutor, then I declare my intentions (I can’t argue now, I’m serious, there is a doubt in the implementation)
2. Thesis of speech. Immediately, briefly and clearly, say your main idea in the “What to do” format.
3. The mode of «Total yes», namely «Repeat — agree — add.» And we practiced a couple of times.
Plus, they introduced a mode of 1 minute for the speech of one person.
It took almost an hour to tell all this and make it clear, but this contribution paid off on the same day. There were a lot of questions at the meeting, as a result it lasted about seven hours, but without these rules we would not have discussed even half of it. In fact, these rules were not strictly adhered to, but it was always easy to return colleagues to the format (what proposal? what thesis?) without resistance.
The successful result of the meeting is inspiring, I plan to update these rules before the next meetings — it’s worth it. I myself was and will be an example of this format. Good purchase!
