Medusa (Jellyfish) – a cocktail with killer tentacles

An exquisite cocktail consisting of layers of different liqueurs and white rum. It has a sweet taste, medium strength and original appearance. With the right ingredients, one serving is made at home in 2-3 minutes. In general, this is a wonderful drink that can surprise guests during a buffet table or a festive party.

It is difficult to compare “Medusa” with other well-known cocktails, it resembles the “Brain Tumor” cocktail with its original appearance, but the taste is two completely different drinks.

Medusa cocktail recipe

There are many cooking options, but we will consider the classic composition.

Ingredients:

  • coconut liqueur (Malibu) – 20 ml;
  • white rum – 20 ml;
  • Baileys – 5 ml;
  • orange liqueur (Cointreau) – 20 ml;
  • Blue Curacao liqueur – 5 ml.

Important! The components are not mixed, but are poured one after the other in the sequence shown below.

Preparation

  1. Pour Malibu into a stack.
  2. Place a layer of Cointreau orange liqueur with a bar spoon or on the edge of a knife.
  3. Lay light rum in the third layer.
  4. Add a couple of drops of Baileys and Blue Curacao.
  5. Drink in one gulp.

Jellyfish with sambuca

Another original version of the cocktail, where sambuca is added instead of rum and Malibu.

Composition and proportions:

  • Blue Curasao – 20 ml;
  • Grenadine (pomegranate syrup) – 2 drops;
  • cream liqueur – 5 ml;
  • vodka – 20 ml;
  • light sambuca – 20 ml.

Preparation

1. Slowly pour layers of sambuca, vodka, Blue Curacao and cream liqueur along the wall of the glass (I recommend using Baileys). The layers of the cocktail should not mix.

2. In the middle of the glass, add 2 drops of grenadine.

3. Quickly drink in one gulp.
