“Crystal Feathers” – winners of the 16th edition
The competition jury decided to award Karolina Świdrak from MedTvoiLokony for the text in the category “Depression – to break the taboo”.
The idea behind the competition is awarding journalists whose work contributes to building public awareness of the dangers of civilization diseasessuch as cardiovascular disease, depression, cancer and diabetes, as well as promoting pro-health attitudes and reducing or even eliminating risk factors.
Works in four categories are awarded:
- «Cancer – overcome fear, win life»
- “Heart disease – a growing threat”
- «Diabetes – to win with disease progression»
- «Depression – to break the taboo»

MedTvoiLokony journalist awarded
One prize was won by MedTvoiLokona in this year’s edition of “Crystal Feathers”.
Karolina Świdrak received a distinction for the text: “Psychiatrist: A doctor in depression gets up in the morning and goes to his patients. Work is often the last stand ». It is an extensive interview with Magdalena Flaga-Łuczkiewicz, a psychiatrist and the Representative for Health of OIL Doctors and Dentists in Warsaw. The conversation concerned the mental condition of Polish doctors, the problem of depression and addictions in this environment.
The national competition for journalists “Kryształowe Pióra” has been organized since 2006, annually emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the medical and journalistic circles in the health education of Poles.
The organizers wish to honor journalists who, thanks to their work, contribute to the health education of Poles, as well as a better understanding of the benefits of, inter alia, from prophylaxis and regular check-ups.
