Medincus is a Non-Public Healthcare Institution (NZOZ) that provides services in the field of otorhinolaryngology, audiology, phoniatrics, rehabilitation, surdologopedics, psychology, physiotherapy, and biomedical engineering. The main focus is on diagnostic tests, treatment and rehabilitation of hearing, voice, speech and balance disorders, breathing disorders, hearing prosthesis and sale of hearing aids, diagnostics for hearing implants, hearing and speech rehabilitation. The facilities of Centrum Medincus in Warsaw, Szczecin, Katowice, Rzeszów, Olsztyn, Gdańsk, Opole, Kajetany and Kraków also provide services under the National Health Fund.

Hospital MEDINCUS International Center of Hearing and Speech in Kajetany performs surgeries in the throat, ear, nose, sinuses, larynx and offers cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implantation. At the Center, it is possible to undertake a unique utilizing therapy Stimulator of Polimodal Sensory Perception by Skarżyński’s method (SPPS), which was awarded in the “Teraz Polska” Competition for Innovative Projects in 2018. It is a therapy of disorders of the central processes of auditory processing coexisting with various difficulties, including articulation disorders, difficulties in learning and communication. SPSS is carried out using an innovative device for multi-sensory therapy. The therapy kit is small and does not need specially adapted rooms, which makes it more accessible and cheaper. Although the device looks inconspicuous at first glance, it is packed with modern technology, thanks to which the auditory training includes solutions in the field of sound modification, including: various types of filtration (including the so-called phonetic filtration), air and bone separation, as well as changes sound intensity and duration. During therapy, a diagnostic evaluation is performed to determine the patient’s progress. The effectiveness of the therapy is based on the division of auditory stimulation in terms of various auditory functions and the development of free auditory attention, as well as the stimulation of auditory-visual-motor integration through active exercises. The innovative element of the method is the combination of auditory stimulation with psychological training.
