Mediderm is an emollient for the care of diseased skin with special requirements. What properties does it have? What distinguishes products with similar use? Is it worth using? We check if there are any contraindications to the use of Mediderm cream.

Mediderm – how does it work?

Mediderm is a special cream to be used in the presence of changes in the skin caused by atopic dermatitis (AD), psoriasis or eczema. The preparation is designed to moisturize the skin, bringing relief in places where it is extremely dry. In addition, Mediderm cream is expected to reduce skin peeling.

Application of Mediderm cream – atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema

Mediderm is used in atopic dermatitis. The disease can affect the baby’s skin, which becomes very dry, slightly flaking. There are blemishes on the bends of the limbs, and shiny red blushes appear on the face. Such skin itches and requires daily careful moisturizing. It is incurable but it can be alleviated by proper care.

Mediderm also moisturizes the skin in case of psoriasis, which is also an incurable disease, but you can alleviate its symptoms. It is characterized by red, itchy patches on the skin. Over time, the skin begins to peel off intensively in these places. It requires, among others adequate hydration, which brings relief to the patient.

Eczema is also a disease for which Mediderm cream can be used to relieve symptoms. The inflammation of the skin with pimples, lumps, vesicles, scabs and erosions requires special treatment. The skin burns and itches, so it needs proper hydration.

Mediderm – properties

The properties of Mediderm are primarily:

  1. long-lasting hydration and lubrication of the skin; 
  2. relieving itching and burning; 
  3. bringing relief from irritation; 
  4. providing the skin with softness and elasticity; 
  5. elimination of peeling and cracking of the skin. 

Mediderm – cream composition

Mediderm cream does not contain parabens, SLS, dyes or fragrances. It contains only safe agents. These are:

  1. Purified Water;
  2. petroleum jelly, which protects against water evaporation;
  3. cetearyl liquidum – an emollient that prevents skin from drying out;
  4. mineral oil that lubricates the skin.

How is Mediderm used?

Mediderm cream should be used according to the doctor’s indications or recommendations described in the medicine leaflet. It is recommended to use the cream 2-3 times a day, applying a thin layer to the affected areas. The cream is well absorbed, while providing long-lasting protection against itching, burning and drying of the skin. According to the Medoderm leaflet, regular use of the preparation extends the remission period of the lesions.

Good to remember

However, it should be remembered that before starting the treatment with the use of Mediderm cream, you should pat a small amount of it on the skin to check how it reacts to the intake of ingredients. If nothing happens within 30 minutes, you can start lubricating the affected areas.

Mediderm – can the cream be used by children?

Mediderm does not contain allergenic ingredients, therefore the cream is safe for children. According to the indications on the leaflet, the drug can be used from the first month of life. There is no information about the side effects or side effects of Mediderm. The preparation has been dermatologically and microbiologically tested.

Mediderm cream is available at a pharmacy without a prescription. It can also be purchased online. Before starting the treatment, it is worth checking the expiry date so as not to use an expired drug. The price of Mediderm for a 100 g package is approximately PLN 10, for a 1 kg package – approximately PLN 40, and for a 500 g package – approximately PLN 20.

The reviews for Mediderm cream are good. Usually, it is used by parents of children suffering from eczema, psoriasis or atopic dermatitis, who emphasize that the preparation is absorbed relatively quickly. The advantages of Mediderm cream also include its price and efficiency.

However, it should be remembered that before starting the treatment with Medoderm, we should visit a dermatologist who will determine the cause of the disease and select the appropriate treatment. We can ask about the use of Mediderm cream – if the doctor agrees, it will be possible to apply the preparation to the affected areas.
