Comments continue after the fuss over COVID-19 vaccination for people over 40. On the night of March 31 to April 1, the Ministry of Health opened registration for Poles born in 1982 and earlier. The change was confirmed by Michał Dworczyk, then announced that it was a “fault”. What do healthcare professionals say?
- On April 1, the topic No. 1 in Poland was vaccination against COVID-19 for people 40+
- Willing people could register via the website patient.gov.pl. There were not only April dates to choose from
- Eventually, Minister Dworczyk announced that it was a system error. People who have successfully registered will receive new dates – in May
- The topic touched upon the Internet users. Doctors also do not hide their thoughts

Dr. Grzesiowski: «Now they will be canceled? What for?”
Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski said that the change in the National Vaccination Program was right.
«This morning I thought that someone was analyzing the current data overnight and rightly unblocked vaccinations for all 40+. After all, there are a lot of younger patients in hospitals because the virus has mutated. And now this plan has been withdrawn, rather than launching more vaccination points. Fault?” – we read on Twitter.
The doctor also noted the chaos caused by the systemic “error”.
«The vaccination system is failing because of hackers, but because of information chaos. Another, nightly, change of the rules for registering for vaccinations, which is right, without prior preparation, results in a crazy mess – deadlines that become obsolete at the time of registration. It is a failure »writes Dr. Grzesiowski.
According to the doctor, canceling vaccinations for people over 40 does not make sense.
«A system is a computer program that does what a person tells it to do. This system has no will of its own, nor has a virus attacked it. The gates were opened, so those who learned about it from the media in the morning signed up for free dates. Will they be canceled now? What for? Since they were free… »asks Dr. Grzesiowski.
Medics are responding to the chaos over COVID-19 vaccines
Medics on Twitter also write about the technical problems associated with the vaccine chaos.
«We are also having problems sending e-prescriptions. The situation is crisis and there are still such obstacles … »- wrote Dominik Lewandowski, specialist in family medicine and geriatrics.
The failure of the patient.gov.pl portal also aroused controversy.
«Your servers are down because you suddenly throw everyone away for vaccinations! I cannot work normally, I cannot vaccinate !! » – Marek Zawadzki, a doctor and specialist in internal medicine, was irritated.
Doctors also talk about the mess that reigns in the health service every day, not only on April 1.
«Think that in such an IT and procedural mess as the vaccination problem today, hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals have been working continuously for years every day. Every hospital is a different system, every procedure is a different system, bajlando to the whole »writes Jakub Kosikowski, a resident of clinical oncology.
It turns out that in the morning the medics received information that the age criterion for the Pfizer and Moderna preparations was abolished.
«But in the morning we got e-mails saying that you meet the age criteria for Pfizer and Moderna !! All systems are lying – I am paralyzed at the health care center! PS too… »- Marek Zawadzki again.
«In order to help the ministry of health, the medical community has established a department of stupid ideas. The task of the team is to replace Minister Niedzielski in making mistakes and create simulations of the worst solutions in health care. This hard work will save thousands of lives »writes Damian Patecki, an anesthesiologist.
