Why do you need a driver’s license?
A driver needs a medical certificate 003-V / y in several cases:
- the driver gets his license for the first time;
- he needs to replace the rights after the expiration date;
- he was deprived of his license for “drunk driving” and now he is restoring them;
- if the driver opens a new category;
- if the driver changes his license ahead of time at his own request;
- if the driver’s license says that he must regularly undergo a medical examination;
- some professional drivers due to the requirement of work regulations.
Do you need a medical certificate if you change your rights due to a change in your first name, last name or other personal data? No, here the law clearly defines that such drivers do not need a medical certificate.
How to get a driver’s license
Most often, instructors and teachers of driving schools themselves advise a certain clinic for a medical examination. Moreover, doctors come to many driving schools and some young drivers get the feeling that only they have the right to an examination. This is not true. The driver, no matter for what reason he needs a certificate, is not obliged to undergo an examination only in those clinics that advise driving schools.
You can pass a medical examination in any medical institution – state, municipal or private, which has a license for “a medical examination for the presence of medical contraindications to driving.” But please note that in a private clinic you cannot get the conclusion of a psychiatrist and narcologist. These two specialists will have to go through the state or municipal clinic at the place of residence. A list of such organizations is easy to find on the websites of the regional Ministry of Health.
That is why you first need to get certificates from a narcologist and a psychiatrist, and then go with them to any clinic to undergo a basic medical examination.
Each doctor issues his certificate, the candidate collects them, and then takes them to the therapist at the final appointment. The therapist is already filling out a general certificate.

How much does it cost to get a driver’s license
The law does not restrict clinics in any way. The price may vary depending on the region and city. The average cost of such a certificate usually does not exceed 2000 rubles.
Where to get a driver’s license
A certificate is issued in the same place where you undergo a medical examination – that is, in any state, municipal or private clinic that has a license.
