For the dough: – 500 milliliters of milk or yogurt; – 2 tablespoons of dry yeast; – 2 chicken eggs; – 100 grams of butter or margarine; – 50 grams of sugar; – 2 teaspoons of salt; – 800 grams of flour.

For the filling: – 500 grams of ground beef; – 2 onions; – 1 carrot; – 1 bell pepper; – 300 grams of zucchini; – 2 tomatoes; – salt and pepper to taste; – vegetable oil for frying.

Recipe for making a pie with meat and vegetable filling

Knead the dough. To do this, melt the butter, add sugar, salt, milk and yeast. Mix everything thoroughly. Add 1 cup flour, stir again and remove to a warm place. As soon as bubbles appear on the surface of the dough, add the eggs, stir and add flour in small portions, stirring thoroughly each time.

The dough should not be very steep. Pour in about 50 milliliters of vegetable oil and knead well again. Cover the bowl with the dough with a lid or a damp towel. Place in a warm place to lift. The dough should increase 2-2,5 times.

Start preparing the filling. Wash and peel vegetables. Cut the onion into thin half rings, grate the carrots on a coarse grater and fry everything in a small amount of vegetable oil. Add minced meat. Mix well so that it is small pieces, bring to readiness.

Add zucchini and bell pepper, cut into strips. Season with salt, pepper and simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly. Scald the tomatoes with boiling water, remove the skin and cut into cubes.

From the dough, cut a piece about the size of a fist and leave to decorate. Roll the rest of the dough into a layer, which is placed on a baking sheet. Put the meat and vegetable filling on top in an even layer.

Decorate the top with dough flagella. Place in a cold oven. Turn it on at 50 ° C for 10-15 minutes, then increase the temperature to 200 ° C and bake for about 20-30 minutes. The cake should brown well on top. Remove the finished pie from the oven, lightly brush with melted butter or vegetable oil, and cover with a tea towel. Leave for 10-15 minutes, then cut into portions and serve.
