Measuring leg length

Measuring leg length

Almost all women know their height, chest, waist and hips, as well as the size of their feet. However, not everyone knows the length of their legs, and those who do not always measure it correctly.

Traditionally, the length of the lower limbs is associated with height, but this is not entirely true, since tall people have all limbs long. When measuring the length of the legs, you need to focus on the ratio of the height and length of the legs themselves. You need to measure the length of the legs using a measuring tape and a mirror.

To correctly measure the length of your legs without outside participation, undress to your underwear, take a measuring tape and measure the length of your legs from the side. Start measuring from the junction of the femur with the pelvis (approximately from the middle of the pelvis) to the heel.

Normally, this length should be 4–6 centimeters longer than half of the total height; if the difference is more than 6 centimeters, then the legs can be called really long, and if only from 2 to 4 centimeters, then not very much.

A more accurate and correct result of measuring the length of the legs can be obtained with the participation of an assistant. Get upright, distribute your weight evenly across your legs and keep your back as straight as possible.

The position of the body will not have much effect on the result, however, a hunched back can steal a few centimeters from it. It is also not recommended to change the position of the body in the process.

Have an assistant measure the length of the legs with a tape measure, placing the beginning of the tape against the protruding tubercle of the femur, which is located opposite the hip joint. The end of the tape is applied to the heel (the leg is strictly vertical). To make the result more objective, measure the length of both legs.

Ideal ratio of height to leg length

With a height of 161 to 167 cm, the ideal leg length is 84–89 cm. With a growth of 168 to 174 cm, the ideal length is 90–94 cm. With a growth of 175 to 180 cm, the ideal length is 95–100 cm.

So, with the correct physique, the length of female legs should be slightly more than half the height. A man, in the case of an ideal ratio, should have a leg length that matches the length of the body.

The length of the body is measured with a measuring tape in an upright position, starting from the crotch and ending with the neck in a 1: 1 ratio

If your leg length isn’t perfect, don’t be discouraged. You cannot change anything, and real beauty is not at all in long legs – just love what nature has given you, and you will always be beautiful.
