“Mazay” is a light unfiltered beer with a mild taste, brewed from natural ingredients. The brand is produced by the Bochkarevsky brewery, one of the leading enterprises in the industry in the Altai Territory. The brand appeared not so long ago, but has already won a number of awards at tasting competitions.
Historical information
The construction of the largest brewery in the Trans-Urals in the village of Bochkari began in 1981, the first products were released eight years later. The place is located at a distance of 70 km from the nearest industrial facilities and is rich in natural water sources. At first, the plant was part of the collective farm, but during the years of perestroika it was separated into an independent company.
Bochkari supply the entire region with beer, kvass and soft drinks. The production is based on natural raw materials and time-tested recipes. The technical equipment of the plant is not inferior to Western enterprises – the most modern equipment is installed in the workshops, and the production meets the requirements of the international quality standard FSSC 22000.
Features of the brand
Beer “Mazay” appeared in March 2017. Technologists from Germany and the Czech Republic took part in the development of the recipe. The foamy drink is brewed from two varieties of malt: light barley and special wheat. Primary fermentation takes place within a week in horizontal lager tanks. The solids are then separated from the wort and the beer is placed in steel vats to mature for another 21 days.
The design of the bottles is aimed at the youth audience. Light unpasteurized beer is positioned by the manufacturer as an indispensable accompaniment to fun parties.
The company sponsors various events where it actively promotes the new product. To popularize the brand, a separate website and Instagram account have been created, where prize draws and various contests are held.

Interesting Facts
The presentation of the novelty at home took place at AltaiFest in 2017. The company acted as the organizer and sponsor of the Mazay motocross, which brought together bikers from the region. Flags with the logo of the brand were fixed on motorcycles, and the event ended with a tasting of the drink.
Other products of the Bochkarevsky plant were also noted at the Prodexpo 2018 exhibition. Among the winners of the competition were the brands of beer “Nemetskoe”, “Altai Khan”, “Zhatetsky Khmel”, also kvass, lemonades and mineral water.

In production, the cold fermentation method is used, which is traditionally used by German brewers. An unpasteurized drink retains the properties of a natural product.
The color is slightly cloudy due to the lack of filtration. The aroma is dominated by malt and hops. The taste of beer resembles wheat bread, there is a slight bitterness at the finish. The extractivity of the initial wort is 12%.
Beer “Mazay” is bottled in glass bottles, plastic containers and kegs of 30 and 50 liters.
