Plastic surgeries that were carried out to tighten the skin of the face have long been in the past. Any surgical intervention in the skin can be quite traumatic and lead to serious complications, including the development of inflammatory processes.
Today, MAKS-lifting, which is the latest development of American and Colombian cosmetologists, is more popular. It is with the help of this procedure that you can get the maximum effect and minimum injuries on the skin.
What is MAX lifting?
This method of rejuvenation has been used for about ten years. Its founder is the famous Colombian cosmetologist Patrick Tonnard. As soon as the procedure proved its effectiveness, American specialists began to use it.
Every year MAKS-lifting became more and more popular, and gained a large army of fans among ordinary people and plastic surgeons. The success of this procedure lies in the fact that after its implementation, the patient has a natural look of the face and there is no effect on facial expressions. To date, Russian cosmetologists are increasingly using this particular rejuvenation technique.
Where does the name MACS lift come from? The thing is, it’s an acronym. Its full name is Minimal access cranial suspension lift. Translated from English, this means a facelift with minimal penetration into the skin. MAX-lifting is something between a mas-lift and a traditional facelift. The essence of this procedure is that the specialist removes unnecessary or sagging skin areas, and tightens the deep structure of the face.
When is MAX lifting contraindicated?
If the patient has at least one of the following items, the doctor will not allow him to the anti-aging procedure.
Firstly, the process of blood clotting plays an important role in this. If it is violated, then the procedure can end with a number of complications. Secondly, a possible predisposition to the fact that after any intervention in the skin, the patient begins to appear keloid scars. Thirdly, cardiovascular pathology. Also, doctors do not allow women who are in position or breastfeeding to MAX-lifting.
Indications for MAKS-lifting
If a patient wants to undergo a MAX-lifting, but at the same time he still has pronounced changes caused by age, then the specialist additionally prescribes other procedures.
Basically, this rejuvenation technique is chosen in order to:
- change the oval and facial features;
- slightly lower the soft tissues of the lower and middle areas of the skin;
- reduce turgor and elasticity of the skin in the facial and cervical region;
- lower the corners of the lips and deep nasolabial folds.
If you decide on such a rejuvenation, then you should follow some rules. For 20 days before the procedure, you should refrain from smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages. It is also necessary to exclude the use of certain drugs, in particular those that can thin the blood.
What is the difference between MAKS-lifting and other anti-aging procedures?
In our case, the beautician makes a thin incision that starts at the place where the hair grows above the ear and ends with the lobe. In other cases, the incision is made behind the ear and is considered very traumatic.
Usually, after the incision, doctors tighten the skin layer by minimally exfoliating it, which extends only to the side of the cheek. During this period, the volume of the facelift is sufficiently reduced, which contributes to the absence of serious complications and adverse reactions.
To tighten the muscular-aponeurotic surface layer, specialists make a vertical incision, and not horizontal, as in other cases. After that, it is fixed with the temporal tissues using a special purse-string suture. Thus, doctors straighten the nasolabial folds and correct the line of the chin.
Compared to other operations, the aponeurosis does not exfoliate during the MAX-lift. Therefore, rehabilitation is quick, easy and without serious complications, namely, without violation of the facial nerves, swelling and hemorrhage.
If such rejuvenation is intended to tighten the cheek area, then it can be combined with blepharoplasty or lifting of the lower and upper eyelids, frontal and eyebrow areas.
How is the operation going?
Before performing the MAX-lift, the patient must be given local or general anesthesia.
So, the process of rejuvenation begins with the fact that doctors make an incision in the area of a small cartilaginous protrusion on the outer ear, doctors call this place a tragus. Then the skin is separated and the aponeurosis (tendon) is tightened. After that, purse-string sutures are carefully applied to the frame of the muscle layer and excess areas of the skin are excised. At the end of the rejuvenation procedure, specialists apply cosmetic sutures at the incision sites.
Rehabilitation period
Any introduction into the skin ends with swelling and blueing. In our case, this is no exception. For 10 days, swelling and bruising can be observed on the face of a patient who has undergone a course of rejuvenation. In such cases, doctors may prescribe special medicinal ointments that will help eliminate unpleasant temporary defects. Doctors do not recommend choosing an ointment on your own.
The stitches are removed one to two weeks after the procedure. It all depends on how quickly the tissues heal. This process is individual for each patient. Therefore, it is impossible to say exactly how many days you need to walk with stitches. After the procedure, doctors do not recommend patients to visit baths, saunas and pools. You should also refrain from sunbathing and heavy physical exertion. After two weeks, you can gradually return to your normal life.
You can see the first results after 15 days. But this is not the final result yet. The rejuvenation process lasts 2-2,5 months. Compared to other anti-aging procedures, MAKS-lifting is minimally traumatic. Therefore, there are practically no negative consequences. The effect after the rejuvenation procedure lasts an average of four years.
