Matte varnish does not go out of style. Today, you can find a dozen of its varieties on sale – varnish with a vinyl or plastic effect, a coating that resembles suede or velvet. The latest offer of the manicure market is sand varnishes. All of these products dry quickly, provide a dense coverage and quickly give your hands a well-groomed look.

Matte varnishes: types and advantages

The first matt varnishes resembled ordinary enamels, devoid of gloss. Many girls complained that these products did not look impressive enough: the matte finish resembled gouache. Today’s variations are much more sophisticated. You can choose products with a coating that resembles rubber or plastic; These varnishes are very beautiful in bright neon colors. For those who prefer a more glamorous option, varnishes with a suede or velvety surface are suitable. The dark range is especially effective: the velvety black, cherry, green and dark blue coating emphasizes the fragility of the hands and makes the nails visually narrower.

Some brands produce varnishes in two variations at once – glossy and matte. Sellers of cosmetic stores note that it is the matte versions that are in great demand, and some especially successful ones even become collectibles.

The latest offer of the varnish market is coatings that imitate embossed sand on nails. They are available in a wide range of colors – from pastel to bright and dark. Some varnishes include fine shimmer and coarser glitter that contrast nicely with the matte texture.

Features of applying matte varnishes

Matte coatings have many advantages: they are quite liquid, dry quickly, do not need fixing coatings and are easy to wash off. However, they also have disadvantages. Matt varnishes are short-lived. The very next day after the manicure, the coating begins to wear off or break off. In addition, after a couple of days, the noble haze disappears, the varnish begins to shine. A matte top will help to save the situation; it will quickly return the effect of vinyl or suede to the varnish.

If you don’t have a matte finish, restore your manicure to its original appearance by applying a new coat of varnish over the old one.

Another feature of matte coatings is to emphasize the slightest irregularities in the nails. Owners of wavy, ribbed and flaking plates will have to work well with a polishing bar before applying matte varnish. Treat the surface of your nails thoroughly and then apply two coats of the leveling base. Dry it well and only then start applying varnish. The matte product is best applied in two to three coats. Take your time – the second layer, applied to the wet varnish, can lie in sloppy bumps and stripes.

Correct minor errors in manicure immediately with a brush dipped in nail polish remover

Varnishes with a velvet, suede and rubber effect can be used for fashionable French or moon manicure. These products work well with glossy varnishes. Use foil threads, glitter, dry sequins and rhinestones as additional decor.
