In Cyprus, from Monday, it is obligatory to wear masks in closed rooms. In means of communication and health facilities, face should also be covered in Italy, Egypt, Tunisia and Greece. In other countries that are popular holiday destinations, there is no such obligation for the time being, although the authorities are increasingly recommending it.

Cypr

From Friday, in Cyprus, it is again obligatory to wear masks indoors. It was abolished on June 1. This is the effect of the dynamic increase in coronavirus infections in this country.

In Cyprus, COVID-19 statistics are released every January. The numbers from July 8 speak of almost 15. infections in the past seven days. A week earlier it was almost 11 on June 24 over 7 thousand Within two weeks, the number of new infections had almost doubled.

The record of daily infections from the previous wave was almost 6,5 thousand. This took place on March 28.

Włochy

Italy is one of the few countries where the obligation to wear masks has still not been abolished. Until September 30, the face must be covered by travelers on buses, trains, subways, trams and ferries. Masks are also valid in hospitals, nursing homes and all health care facilities.

What is the epidemic situation there? On July 5, the daily number of infections exceeded 130. Currently, the incidence is on average about 100 thousand daily. On July 8, over 100 deaths were recorded, for the first time since May.

Hiszpania

In Spain, the bars showing infections are also rising, although still far from the situation in January, when they exceeded 100. Currently, the daily average is almost 20.

The country’s authorities have not yet decided to return to epidemic restrictions, although more and more often they are referring to the obligation to wear masks indoors. For now, it remains a recommendation. Both the authorities of larger cities and the local minister of health, Carolina Darias, are talking about it.

The obligation to wear masks, both indoors and outdoors, currently applies to people infected with the coronavirus, even if they pass it asymptomatically.

Francja

France is currently one of two European countries (next to Malta) where restrictions are still in force when entering the country. Confirmation of complete vaccination or recent infection must be shown when crossing the border, while unvaccinated persons must present a recent negative COVID-19 test result.

As in Spain, there is more and more talk of a return to the obligation to wear masks in means of transport, closed rooms and particularly crowded places. For now, it is recommended, but the Nice authorities were the first to introduce such an order. Covering the mouth and nose is required there on public transport from Monday.

It is also worth checking information about other towns in the south of France. They appear more and more often in particularly popular places visitor limits or the requirement to reserve seats in advance.

Grecja

In Greece, the bars showing the infection are also rising very fast. A few days ago, the number of daily cases exceeded 25. It hasn’t been that bad since March. Medical experts there are appealing to expand the list of places where you need to cover your face.

Currently, masks are compulsory in public transport, taxis and in some places on cruise ships, yachts and ferries (mainly in closed rooms, but detailed rules are established locally). Masks should also be worn in hospitals, pharmacies and nursing homes.

Chorwacja

In Croatia, the situation is not as dramatic as in Italy or France. Infections are rising, but so far the daily average for the past week is just over a thousand. For comparison in January, there were over 10 illnesses a day.

The authorities are not planning to introduce an obligation to wear masks in closed rooms or in public transport, although the face should be covered in health care facilities. There are also no limits on the number of people in the premises, and there are no restrictions on entering the country.

Turcja

In Turkey, the absolute number of COVID cases is also moderate for the time being, but week-by-week infections are clearly on the rise. On average, about 10 people are registered daily. new cases (in February it was over 100)

The obligation to wear masks in confined spaces and in means of communication was lifted there at the end of May. Currently, you only need to cover your face in health facilities.

Bulgaria

Infections are also on the rise in Bulgaria, although still far from the numbers seen in the January wave. Then it was up to a dozen or so thousand. cases a day, now the numbers are approaching a thousand.

In May, covid certificates were no longer applicable when crossing the border, and there are no epidemic restrictions in the country. However, in view of the increase in the disease, the Bulgarian health ministry recommends wearing masks in public transport, crowded places and medical facilities.

Egypt

In Egypt, there has recently been a several percent increase (week to week) in the incidence of COVID-19. There is no question of restoring the restrictions yet.

However, there is an obligation to wear masks in offices, shops or other closed and crowded rooms all the time. This also applies to public transport as well as private carriers.

Tunezja

Similarly in Tunisia. The requirement to wear masks in closed spaces and in means of communication is invariable.
