PSYchology

Masha Lukashkina writes poetry for children and translates from English. And in the book Handstand in Botany Lessons, she talked about everything that she sees around her today … the most ordinary schoolgirl.

Without flirting with a child reader or trying to imitate childish slang, she writes on behalf of a 10-year-old girl in such a way that her stories are credible. A separate achievement of this book is the design. The artist Ekaterina Silina usually illustrates science fiction, fantasy, fairy tales (by J. R. R. Tolkien, C.-S. Lewis, M. Maeterlinck), and, taking up Masha Lukashkina’s book, she drew incredible pictures that make you remember Alice’s adventures in the Country miracles. And perhaps not in vain: children are well aware that miracles lie in wait for us in everyday life.
