Passion flower or passion flower has a very rich history and has been a wonderful medicine for our health for a long time. Therefore, you need to get to know it. In Poland, as well as in many other countries, it is grown as an ornamental plant in greenhouses. Probably the name for many of the readers is puzzling.

Why martyr ? Well, the Spaniards called this plant during the conquest of America because they distinguished in its appearance and structure: a crown of thorns and nails from the crucifixion of Christ. So the name typically has a spiritual character from the mainstream of Christianity. Dominicans and Jesuits also brought this herb from America to Europe. They took it as an example of a miracle that commands them to convert Indians to Christianity. There are about half a thousand types of this herb, which differ in color and size. It is bred for its ornamental use in floristry, as well as its extraordinary health properties and use in cosmetics. It contains very large amounts of alkaloids, glycosides and flavonoids. In addition, it is a treasury of vitamins A and C and potassium.
