Martin Luther King on conscience

A priest who studied Marx, the leader of the movement for equal rights for African Americans, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Martin Luther King changed the world by preaching love for one’s neighbor. In a moment of difficult choice, he calls to rely on conscience as the main guideline, no matter how hard or scary it may be, conscience will lead you on the right path.

“Cowardice asks: is it safe? Expediency asks: is it prudent? Vanity asks: is it popular? But conscience asks: is it right? And there comes a time when one has to take a position that is neither safe nor prudent nor popular, but one has to take it because it is right…”
