Marigolds: names, undersized varieties
Marigolds are bright, beautiful, unpretentious flowers. They are often planted in garden plots and city squares. The varieties of marigolds are so diverse that you can easily choose a natural decoration for your site.
Names of varieties of marigolds
Marigolds are a common name for annual plants with dense flowers and a stem that is resistant to low temperatures. They bloom until late autumn, sometimes before the first frost and snowfall. There are about 60 varieties that differ significantly from each other.
Marigolds rejected and erect are two types of rather tall, from 30 to 90 cm, ornamental plants. The size of the bud varies from 5 to 15 cm.
There are many varieties, here are the most popular:
- “Bolero” – red-brown bud, active flowering throughout the summer, stem height up to 30 cm.
- “Jolly Jester” – different shades of buds, branching trunk.
- “Gold Bol” – high, up to 60 cm, stem, semi-double or simple petals.
- “Orange prince” gives dense, double flowers of rich orange color, the stem is powerful, grows up to 65 cm.
- “Hawaii” – large orange buds, late flowering time.
- “Golden Ring” – yellow ball, height up to 50 cm.
- “Eskimo” is a beautiful, delicate milk-white hat.
- Friels are yellow-orange flowers that bloom in July.
- “Mandarin” – orange-yellow bud, dense branchy bush.
Velvet ones go well in flower beds, by themselves and in the company of other types of flowers. Since the timing of flowering is different, you can make sure that fresh buds are pleasing to the eye in summer and autumn.
Low-growing varieties of marigolds
Marigolds with miniature and shortened stems are used to decorate lawns, decorative flower beds, and adjoining plots of land. Among the undersized varieties there are both annual and perennial flowers of reddish-ocher, yellow, orange shades. Dwarf marigolds grow no higher than 30 cm, they do not smell as sharp as tall and medium-sized varieties.

- “Lemon Jam” wears lemon-yellow beads-buds, blooms profusely.
- “Gnome” has brown petals and a yellow core.
- “Mimimix” pleases with simple small and pale colors.
- “Petite” orange gives beautiful double buds.
- Carmen is famous for its carmine red petals.
- “Golden Head” resembles a chrysanthemum, blooms until October, is not afraid of frost.
- “Antigua” produces terry ball heads of a single color.
- “Bonzana” can be of various shades: yellow, orange, white, reddish, brown, lemon.
- Lunasi is an orange variety similar to chrysanthemum.
- “Supra”, despite its low stem, produces huge, up to 10 cm in diameter, flowers.
- “Bonanza” gives buds of different colors: scarlet, red, yellow, gold.
Each variety combines several varieties. They differ in color, leaf shape, aroma.
Marigolds are ornamental plants that are popular with summer residents and owners of country houses, which are good for decorating individual flower beds or lawns. Many varieties allow you to make the site beautiful throughout the summer until late autumn.
