Maria Pogrebnyak explained why she is against cesarean section

A mother of many children admitted that her sons were born by natural childbirth.

More than half a million subscribers follow Maria’s Instagram page. The wife of footballer Pavel Pogrebnyak often posts photos of the family idyll, but looking at Maria, it’s hard to believe that she is raising three sons! The girl’s figure is still flawless, and harmony causes envy. Maria, 29, is actively sharing advice with other moms. This time she touched upon the topic of a serious choice – whether it is worth giving birth naturally, or resorting to a cesarean section. Pogrebnyak is categorical in her decision – only natural childbirth!

“I gave birth to all my boys naturally. Everything was going well for me and there were no indications for a cesarean. But I also know those who deliberately chose cesarean, without having a medical indication for this. Why? Someone out of fear of ruptures, complications during childbirth, well, because of the fear of pain, of course. I also faced a choice. I believe that the natural course of labor is a very important moment for both mom and baby. Well, do not forget that a cesarean section is still a lane operation. Like any surgical intervention, it can affect the mother’s body in different ways in the future, ”Maria wrote in her microblog.

We asked the gynecologist when a caesarean section is prescribed and when it is impossible to do without it.

Anna Koshelevich, doctor, obstetrician-gynecologist:

– It is important to understand that caesarean is not done just like that. The operation is prescribed if natural childbirth is associated with risks, and these risks are higher than with a caesarean section. There are absolute indications for cesarean – like uterine fibroids or complete placental abruption. The rest require careful analysis. For example, a breech presentation of the fetus or a scar on the uterus is not an indication for a cesarean section. And if there is a scar on the uterus and at the same time the pelvic bones are narrow, then this is almost one hundred percent caesarean. In addition, one should not forget about emergency situations, when surgery is the only way to save the lives of the mother and child. For example, if childbirth lasts almost two days, the baby is without water, labor is weak. I repeat, no one will do cesarean treatment to you without serious indications. Statistics are such that the mortality rate in operative delivery is three times higher than in natural childbirth. And after the second cesarean section, they suggest sterilization.
