The Inn at Little Washington hotel complex in Washington (USA, Virginia) began to prepare for the exit from quarantine. And he sent an e-mail to his potential guests that they were ready to work and that, in particular, a restaurant at the hotel would work. Then the Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam was quick to warn about social distance and that the institution could be only 50% full.
And then the chef of the restaurant Patrick O’Connell came up with a very original idea, which, in his opinion, should help make up for the lack of people. So that the guests of the restaurant do not feel lonely, and his establishment does not seem deserted, Patrick ordered – mannequins! He decided to seat them at empty tables and thus imitate the usual filling of his until recently popular establishment.
“I’ve always liked mannequins – they never complain about anything and you can have fun dressing them up,” he commented on his decision. “It will definitely make the guests smile and make them take memorable photos.”
The costumes for the mannequins will be provided by the local theater and will be 1940s style clothing. Waiters will approach the mannequins, take orders from them and pour wine, so that visitors get the impression of the presence of real people.
It is noteworthy that the chef is close to the theme of the theater, since he once specialized in drama in college.
