Mango from a bone: how to grow? Video
Preparing the mango seed for planting
Plant the mango pit with the root side down, do not deepen. Cover with a cut plastic bottle (top with cork). In the future, periodically unscrew the plug to ventilate the “greenhouse”. Water the soil and place the pot in a warm, bright place. Keep the soil always moist.
Please note that stagnant humid air can cause bone mold to form. Therefore, there is a second landing option. Remove the entire shell and plant the kernel on the edge, with the side down where the root should appear.
It will take a long time to germinate a mango, especially if you have planted a seed without a sprout. Only after 4-7 weeks, in some cases even 10, will you see that a green stalk emerged from the soil. At first, it will grow very slowly, ventilate the “greenhouse” more often and longer, and when the plant is fully acclimatized, remove the shelter.
Transplant the mango into a large pot filled with new soil and marble chips. Place in a bright, warm place, water and be sure to spray, as this is a tropical plant and it loves high humidity.
With proper care, mangoes bloom at the age of 6-10 years. But the tree will not give fruit, for this it needs space and other conditions. In addition, most likely, you will not get a long-lived plant from a fruit purchased in a store; it will die in three years. Because the stores sell fruits from the usual tall mango. But dwarf plants can be grown at home, they feel great at home for a very long time, delighting the owners with their unusual exotic look and growing up to 2-3 m. They are bred by grafting, and can be purchased in specialized stores.
