Mandatory COVID-19 tests. Who will have to do them? New rules

During Tuesday’s press conference, the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, announced new restrictions related to the development of the coronavirus pandemic. Introduced, among others. new rules for testing for the presence of SARS-CoV-2. From December 15, the obligation to test will also apply to people with covid passports, if someone in the household is sick with COVID-19.

Currently, testing for COVID-19 does not apply to the household of infected people, provided that they are fully vaccinated and have the so-called covid passports. The quarantine obligation does not apply to them either. These rules will change on December 15th. How will they be implemented? What does it take to get tested for coronavirus?

COVID-19 tests for household members, regardless of vaccination

Compulsory testing for COVID-19 will apply from December 15 everyone who lives with an infected person, whether they have been fully vaccinated or not. It is known that the vaccinated also get sick and can infect, so testing can reduce the emission of the virus.

How to get a coronavirus test? The easiest way is to fill in the form, which can be accessed from the website patient.gov.pl. Then, depending on the answers to the questions asked (there are, for example, questions about contact with an infected person and disturbing symptoms), the system qualifies for the test or not. If so – you can choose the option “online order” or “order by a consultant”. The further steps are described in detail on the above-mentioned page. An employer can expect a COVID-19 test from an employee

The tests will apply not only to the families of people suffering from COVID-19. According to the new government guidelines, too employers will have the right to expect the employee to present the test resultto provide a safe working environment. Employees, in turn, will have access to free tests.
