Malysheva: give up food, but spend on beauty injections

In the summer, everyone is preoccupied with issues of harmony. This topic became even more relevant after self-isolation. Which diet should you choose? Is it still possible to eat salt, sugar, yeast bread? The most famous TV doctor answered these questions.

– What are the main principles of a healthy diet? They say that it is not at all necessary to eat several times a day in small portions, but you need to listen to your body. Is it so?

– The principles of healthy eating are very simple: anything is possible. There is no limit on the quality of food, but there are limits on the quantity. The serving should be 200-250 grams. And limiting the total calorie content of the day – up to 1200 kcal for women and about 1500 kcal for men. This is for those who lead a normal life. If you have a hard job or are an athlete, the numbers may change.

 – Do I need to count calories? Is there a simple universal formula for this?

– Keeping or not keeping track of calories is your own business. In the first case, you will definitely keep within the normal range, this has been proven. The universal formula is simple: we get all calories only with food, and we spend them on a variety of things. For example, for the work of the body – this is the so-called basic metabolism, for all kinds of physical activity – walking, running. You can get a fairly large amount of calories with food, but it is very difficult to actively lose them.

 – The new fashion trend, clean eating, is based on food prohibitions. The principle of this approach is that only natural is useful. First, people give up sugar and salt, then gluten, the next limitation is that food can only be eaten raw. Is this more good or bad?

– Recently, a group of world experts analyzed 47 different diets. It turned out that the most ineffective are restricted diets. Some without carbohydrates, others without gluten, without that, without it … They are difficult to adhere to, and they do not give anything good to people. The so-called Mediterranean diet turned out to be ideal, which implies a wide variety of products (fruits, vegetables, vegetable oil), and, most importantly, it includes 1,2 kg of greens per day. And the worst were the diets of Ducan, Atkins and other protein diets with a sharp restriction of carbohydrates.

 – Is it true that some amount of salt is necessary for the body? What about sugar?

– They are necessary, but we must understand that we use them in any case, even if we completely cancel them in their pure form, because they are contained in all products without exception. So, you get salt with regular food in sufficient quantities, the same applies to sugar, it is found in fruits, milk and cottage cheese, because these products contain milk sugar – lactose, which consists of galactose and glucose, and this is direct sugar.

 – There is a lot of talk about the dangers of yeast bread. But I know that yeast breaks down during the cooking process …

– After heat treatment, the yeast completely loses all its qualities. Therefore, it makes no difference whether it is yeast bread or not. Stories that yeast from bread ferments in the body is illiteracy.

 – What do doctors think about the benefits of whole grain bread?

– Of course, doctors are for whole grains. Because its use indicates the presence of coarse fiber in the finished product, which is necessary for the normal life of the body.

 – Recently, they write that monosodium glutamate, sodium benzoate, flavors, identical to natural, and other additives are actually safe. Is it so?

– All that has the word “sodium” is salt. And these products should be treated like salt. In addition, monosodium glutamate is a fairly strong allergen.

 – Is it better to buy products with the mention of “non-GMO”?

– This inscription does not carry any content. This is a marketing ploy based on the fact that scared people will give more money for non-GMO products. The fears associated with GM foods are based on nothing. This is a perfectly safe food.

 – Are there standards for the necessary physical activity for men and women? If there is a lack of time and opportunities for the gym, walking, cycling and refusing to use the elevator can be a substitute?

– There are standards of physical activity, they are proven by serious research. It looks like this: in order to prolong life and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, you must walk 150 minutes a week. That means 30 minutes five times a week. Of course, cycling and avoiding the elevator will only benefit you.

 – You support raising the retirement age. Having reached it, are you planning to retire or would you like to continue working?

– I am calm about raising the retirement age, especially since Russia has now adopted a very smooth scale for raising it. My mother, living in the Soviet Union, did not retire for two years because she believed that she had to work. Of course, I represent a different generation, with a longer life expectancy, but I am also convinced that after reaching retirement age I will have enough strength to work.

 – Women from 40 and above, what would you advise on modern safe and inexpensive beauty procedures? What are you using?

– The most revolutionary thing that medicine has come up with over the past 20 years is the so-called beauty injections, that is, botulism toxin and fillers (they are all based on hyaluronic acid). It is better to give up the excess of food, but spend money on such injections, they really make it possible not to age. I use all the achievements of modern medicine and, of course, beauty injections too. Which is what I wish for you.

 – You wear glasses. And how often do you need to check your eyesight if nothing bothers you? What are the main risk factors for the eyes?

– Enough once a year. With age, people begin to consult an ophthalmologist more often, simply because they have presbyopia (senile farsightedness – when a person sees poorly up close. – Approx. “Antenna”). The most dangerous eye risk factor is high blood sugar, which is the main cause of blindness.

 – I read that there is no medical research confirming that eye problems can occur due to long-term work in front of the monitor, and even in the dark, you can use a computer without risking harm to yourself. What do you think?

– Usually we blink 16 times a minute, and when we look at the screen of a computer or phone, then only 4 times a minute. Therefore, the main pathology that occurs during prolonged work at the computer is dryness of the surface of the eyes. This is a serious problem, and it must be taken into account. At the moment, it is recommended to reduce visual stress when working with electronic devices.

 – Is it true that if a woman had a minus, it levels out with age, approaches zero, and then even grows?

– It doesn’t matter whether you are a woman or a man, after 45 and before 60 years you will add yourself plus 3 diopters, this applies to everyone, without exception, and is due to the fact that the lens of the eye becomes dense over the years. This is age-related presbyopia, or farsightedness. Accordingly, if you had any minus, the pluses compensate for it, and you will be able to read without glasses, and you will still look into the distance with glasses. If you have a plus, like me, then over the years for the distance you will wear glasses with even greater pluses.

– Have blueberries, carrots and eye gymnastics been proven to be effective against ophthalmic diseases?

– There is no such scientific data.

– Elena Vasilievna, should we wait for the second wave of coronavirus?

– The chief sanitary doctor of our country (Anna Popova. – Approx. “Antenna”) said that, from her point of view, this virus is weak. Absolutely all specialists came to this conclusion. Let me remind you what statistics we started with: with a common cold, one patient infects one or two people, with coronavirus (as we thought at the beginning of the outbreak) – two or three, with rhinovirus – six, with measles – 16 people. Today we can say that one coronavirus patient infects only 1-2 people.

I myself kept a graph of the ratio of the number of daily tests performed and the percentage of mortality. I took Russian statistics. The graph shows that there are more and more tests, but the mortality rate remains at the same level. That is, in reality, it is decreasing and has already decreased radically. And in the graph of the ratio of tests performed and cases of infection, it can be seen that there are more and more tests, and fewer infected. This also suggests that the outbreak of coronavirus in Russia is over, we have come out of it and can sleep peacefully. With a probability of 100%.

Very interesting research was carried out by scientists from the Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. They fully tested several times, month after month, 500 thousand people from among the residents of Moscow and the Moscow region. Their research showed that the coronavirus detectability was roughly 20% at the start of the outbreak, and is now less than 1%. Dealing with the problem, which in epidemiology is called “circulation of the virus”, scientists have come to the conclusion that this figure is decreasing. There are several reasons for this. First, the virus would like to cohabit with us so that we do not die if possible. It is like an acute respiratory disease, the viruses of which live with us, among them there are four coronaviruses. We cough, sneeze, but we go to work, do not interrupt. So, the covid-19 virus seems to be the same. And second – apparently, humanity has enough innate immunity so as not to get sick with this virus. Studies have shown that 20% of people have already formed antibody, that is, acquired adaptive immunity. Therefore, answering the question whether there will be a second wave or not, epidemiologists say: unlikely.
