Maltan is a nipple ointment for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It has a moisturizing and protective function, and prevents breast inflammation. The active substance of the preparation is safe glucose, which prevents the growth of bacteria and has anti-inflammatory properties. The use of the preparation is recommended in the case of irritation or abrasions of the nipple, as well as prophylactically before childbirth – in order to immunize the nipples. It is a preparation that improves the feeding process, makes it less painful for the mother and easier for the baby. The use of the preparation has a slight anesthetic effect and the skin of the nipple becomes more elastic.
Maltan – indications for use
Preparation Malta is recommended for:
- nipple care before childbirth,
- nipple care during breastfeeding,
- preventing mastitis,
- soothing abrasions, irritations, cracks, nipple wounds,
- proper preparation of nipples for the lactation period and preventing their damage (hardening the nipples),
- painless feeding of the baby,
- make it easier for your baby to suck on the breast.
Maltan – how to use it?
To properly prepare the nipples for the lactation and feeding period, Malta should be used 2 months before the planned delivery, twice a day.
The recommended method of using the ointment during lactation is the use of compresses on the nipples, it is best to use sterile gauze or knock protectors. The excess of the preparation should be removed.
Maltan – contraindications
Malta is a safe preparation, there is none contraindications When using the ointment, no special precautions should be taken, however, if any disturbing symptoms occur, discontinue use of the preparation. It is harmless to the baby and does not adversely affect its digestive system or skin.

Maltan – storage
The preparation should be stored at a temperature below 25 degrees C – preferably at room temperature (15-25 degrees C), in a place that is out of the reach of children. Malta should be stored in a dry place.
Maltan – composition
The preparation includes: the active substance – glucose monohydrate, distilled water, white petrolatum, liquid paraffin, solid paraffin, glycerol mono- and dioleate (Aracel 186).

Maltan – expiration date
The expiry date of the preparation is 3 years from the production date.
