The controversy surrounding Krystyna Pawłowicz's stay at the hotel in Solec-Zdrój continues.
- On Sunday, the media received information that a fire broke out in the Malinowy Zdrój hotel in Solec-Zdrój, and Krystyna Pawłowicz was among the evacuated guests.
- «I strongly emphasize that I am staying at the Malinowy Zdrój hotel for a therapeutic stay. I am a guest here and I use this place with all sanitary requirements »- commented Pawłowicz, adding that to her knowledge, the hotel has been legally operating since January 21
- Our reader confirms that not only Malinowy Zdrój is open to guests, but also other hotels in the area that provide rehabilitation services
- There is also a swimming pool complex in Malinowy Zdrój, also open to outside guests. “Officially, to use it, you have to be a patient of the center, but anyone who fills in a short form with basic data at the reception and confirms that it is rehabilitation becomes one”

«Dear Editor,
There is a lot of media in the media today about prof. Pawłowicz, who was a guest of the Malinowy Zdrój hotel in Solec-Zdrój, which probably no one would have known if it were not for the fire in the facility. The interested party confirmed her presence in Solec, joining the growing list of politicians from the ruling party who set strict restrictions during working hours to break them in private time or – at best – circumvent and bend them.
However, I want to point out something else. Malinowy Zdrój is not the only hotel that operates and welcomes guests, despite the sanitary regime and the ban on the operation of hotels as such. Hotels in nearby Busko-Zdrój and many other places in Poland operate and welcome guests. They advertise on the internet, it’s no secret.
How it’s possible? They all provide “rehabilitation services” and can receive visitors on this basis. I do not know how this issue is regulated in Polish covid law, but it looks as if the word “rehabilitation” is a gateway used by such establishments.
How do I know about this? I am a regular customer of these places, also during pandemic restrictions I had the opportunity to be in Solec.
Malinowy Zdrój is a facility consisting of a swimming pool complex and a hotel. Mineral pools in Malinowy Zdrój have been open for many months, also for external visitors. Officially, to use them, you need to be a patient of the center, but anyone who fills in a short form at the reception desk with basic data and confirms that it is rehabilitation becomes one. Rehabilitation, which may take several hours, which is as long as the validity of the admission ticket.
Inside, all swimming pools are open, and there are rehabilitation treatments. The only inconvenience is the take-away restaurant. In practice, hungry patients in swimming pool bathrobes buy dinner in plastic boxes, sit on a bench and eat a meal. And then they go back to the pool. I was, I saw.
The hotel operates on a similar basis, this one and many others in the area. Malinowy Zdrój was opened on January 21 after a pandemic break. Now, the swimming pools can be used by outsiders and those who decide to stay longer.
Guests can come, purchase a “rehabilitation package” and spend any number of days bathing, massaging, healing and beauty treatments. Of course, restaurants and bars do not operate in the hotels, meals are usually served to the rooms. No referral is needed for such a stay, because the center is private. A possible diagnosis is made on the spot. Of course, guests are asked about their ailments, but who of us, after a year of a pandemic, does not feel sore and tired so much that can testify about it in an appropriate questionnaire?
Do hotels that accept patients for stays break the law? I think not. Rather, they simply use the slogan “rehabilitation” and thus fight for survival.
But the history of the stay of prof. Pawłowicz in Solec Zdrój is an opportunity to say out loud: for a year, we have been living in a legal stumbling block in Poland. Pandemic prohibitions and orders are unclear and difficult to understand. They are full of gaps and loops that give you room for combining. They are unfair – stricter on the righteous, gentler on the cunning and more courageous.
Smart people know where to relax. Those who are well-informed will travel, massage them, and rest. What about the rest?«
