Malfunctions of Euronova washing machines – do-it-yourself repair

Washing machines Euronova (Eurosoba) are assembled in Austria, so they are of enviable quality and excellent technical characteristics. In Russia, they are better known as “Baby from Porsche”.

Euronova machines are usually designed for 14 years of operation. 80% of all nodes are developed by the manufacturer – Eudora Gmbh.

SMAs are individually tested at every stage of production. If they break, it is usually due to violations of the rules of operation and external factors:

• poor quality water;
• voltage fluctuations in the network;
• low quality powders.

Today we will consider the main malfunctions of this brand and tell you what to do if the Euronov (Evrosoba) washing machine breaks down.

SM Euronova shows error code

Thanks to the high manufacturability of machines equipped with a self-diagnosis system, users will learn about failures right there – by fault codes.

Consider the error codes that Euronov’s machine issues and their meanings:

1. The door lock is broken, or the microswitch is out of order. The first thing to do in this situation is to check if the hatch is tightly closed. After check the health of the lock.
2. Waste water drain does not work. Most often, the pump impeller is to blame. It can be blocked due to scale, detergent deposits and blockages in the sewer system.
3. Water is not poured. Causes: the water supply valve is closed, insufficient pressure in the water supply, clogging of the water inlet filter, breakage of the inlet valve.
4. Occurs when the residual water level exceeds the norm. The tightness of the water inlet valve may be broken.
5. Indicates a breakdown of the temperature sensor (thermistor).
6. The code says that there is no water heating. The electric heater (TEH) could fail.
7. This error occurs if too much water has entered the tank.
8. Motor or tachometer error (tachometer, tachogenerator).
9. The code indicates a breakdown of the thyristor.
10. Appears on the display when the interlock circuit is faulty.
11. A rare error means a violation of the pump circuit.

Euronova washing machine is leaking

If the washer began to leak during washing, you can figure out the problem and repair it yourself. Reasons for leaks:

• hatch cuff damage;
• household chemicals for low quality laundry;
• blockages in the system;
• breakdown or crack in the tank;
• failure of the filling valve, water level switch and other parts.

Important! You can not operate the machine if it is leaking. Having found a leak, immediately disconnect the CM from the network until the malfunction can be fixed.

This breakdown is most typical for the Euronova 600, Euronova 800, Euronova 1000 models.

In this case, do-it-yourself repair consists in eliminating the causes of blockages that could cause a leak.

Checking Euronova hoses for blockages

1. Check drain hose. It can get clogged with small items that fall out of clothing pockets during washing.
2. Check the hatch. The latch may be broken in it or the sealing gum – cuff – may be damaged. If the cuff is clogged – clean it, if there is a slight damage – you can seal it with a rubber patch, and if the damage to the cuff is too strong, replace it.

SM Evrosoba (Evronova) does not draw water

When you start the machine may not draw water, so it will not start washing. This can mean both a software error and a failure of one of the nodes.

Try to find out for yourself what caused the failure:

• It is possible that there is no water in the water supply system. To check this, simply turn on the faucet in the bathroom or kitchen.
• There is water, but there is not enough pressure in the system to create a normal pressure. The machine either does not draw water at all, or does it too slowly. In this and the previous case, you should wait until the water supply returns to normal, or call a plumber.
• If the door is not tightly closed, the command unit does not signal the start of the washing program, so no water is collected. Maybe you just didn’t close the sunroof properly. Other breakdowns may also occur: failure of the hatch blocking device (UBL), breakage of the door guide or the handle itself. In this case, one of these elements will need to be replaced. You can carry out repairs yourself – for this you just have to find instructions and see how to remove the UBL or disassemble the door to replace the handle or guide.
• A clogged filter installed on the inlet hose can also block the water supply to the tank. To clean the filter, you need to turn off the water supply valve on the pipe, disconnect the hose at the place of its attachment to the washer body, remove the filter with pliers and rinse it. Inspect the hose at the same time, it may also be clogged.

Euronov’s machine stopped after filling with water

The reasons why your washing machine stopped the washing program (while there was water left in it) may be such failures:

Euronova does not heat water

This is not the most common failure for this brand, but it is not excluded due to the high hardness of the water in our plumbing systems.

Important! This is a critical error. As a rule, it occurs due to the fact that the heating element is overgrown with scale, due to which heat does not enter the tank. As a result, the heating element overheats and burns out.

Possible short circuit! Turn off the machine until you localize the breakdown.

Usually, in this situation, it is necessary to disassemble the washing machine, check the thermoelectric heater with a tester and then replace it. Replacing a heating element in Evronov’s typewriters is not much different from a similar repair of other brands of typewriters.

SMA Euronova overheats water

As a rule, overheating of water in Eurosob or Euronova machines occurs for a number of reasons:

• The thermistor (temperature sensor) is out of order. The solution to the problem is to replace the sensor. The sensor is built into the heating element, so when replacing it, you can also clean the heater from scale.
• Thermostat failure or malfunction. It also needs replacement.
• Shorted the wires between the control module and the thermostat. You need to solder the contacts.
• Software failure. Eliminated only by reprogramming, repair or replacement of the electronic module.

The first thing you can do yourself: check if you have accidentally set the heating mode to “Boiling” or if you have not chosen a program in which washing is carried out at 95 degrees.

Euronova washing machine does not work at all

If the machine does not work, then fault codes do not always appear. For the user, this is a difficult situation, because it is not clear what caused the stoppage and what to repair.

You can determine the causes by the signs that accompany individual malfunctions:

1. The machine does not respond to pressing the start button “ON”. At the same time, the wash start lamp may light up, but the process does not start.
2. Complete lack of response to the “ON” button, while the power indicator does not light up.
3. If the indicators and numbers flash randomly, this confirms the problem.

As a result, several breakdowns can be diagnosed:

• Failure of the START button.
• Break in the electrical circuit of the washing machine.
• Software failure, control board failure.

You can do the following on your own:

• Check if your machine is connected to the mains.
• Check that the power cord, plug and socket are in working order. To check the latter, use a screwdriver with an indicator or a working electrical appliance.

If all of the above is in order, a serious repair is required – soldering or replacing the start button, restoring the integrity of the internal wiring of Euronov’s SM, and maybe even repairing or replacing the electronic module.

Possible breakdowns according to the manufacturer

If you have lost the user manual, we will notify you of possible damages listed in the user manual. The manufacturer is sure that these failures occur in Euronov’s typewriters most often:

1. The drum does not rotate and no functions are performed. This may be due to the fact that there is no electricity supply, the hatch door is not tightly closed, the program is not selected, or the selector ring is in the “0” position.
2. The machine does not press. The first reason: the linen has strayed into a large lump, which is why the spin is blocked. The second reason: you have set the “Wash without spin” mode.
3. The powder does not enter the tank (or is not completely taken out of the cuvette). Perhaps you have chosen the wrong program, or the powder has gone into lumps.
4. The machine does not wash clothes. The first possible causes are too much or too little powder, the wrong temperature or program is selected.
5. The machine rips clothes. Often this happens due to the ingress of foreign objects into the tank.
