You will need:
- OK. 15 g of dark gray brocade beads # 10;
- elongated bead, wet asphalt color;
- lock for beads;
- thin strong threads (nylon or lavsan threads 33K or 33L are suitable);
- needles for beads # 12 or 13.
Technique performance: descent.
Job Description:The width of the ribbon depends on the number of beads in the initial set. It will be slightly narrower than the length of the initial chain. It is better to place the beads in the middle of the thread, leaving the other end long enough. In this case, at the end of the weaving of the first half of the tape, you need to turn the work and continue weaving on the other side.
- 1st and 2nd rows: cast on 12 beads on a needle and go upwards into the 9th bead (sk.19.1). String 1 bead and, skipping the 8th, insert the needle into the 7th bead. Thus, go up to the end of the 1st row, passing through the beads in a checkerboard pattern (passing one at a time). The 2nd row is finished when the needle comes out of the 1st bead.
- 3rd row: cast on 2 beads (17 and 18) on a needle and enter 16th from top to bottom. Lower the row, not reaching the end of the previous row, by one protruding bead.
- 4th row: cast on 2 beads on the needle and continue to lower in the same way as you lowered the 2nd row.
- 5th row: the needle came out of the top bead of the previous row. Cast on 3 beads (27, 28, 29) and go to the 1st of the three. This is called “raising”, then the row is lowered in the same way as the 3rd. All rows going from top to bottom go down like the 3rd, and the rows going from bottom to top – like the 4th. The length of one half of the tape in this product is about 19,5 cm, the tape is made of 48 “lifts”.
When one half of the ribbon is ready, turn the product and continue weaving in the same way as you braided the first half of the ribbon. If you need to replace the thread, you should leave the end of the old thread at least 10-15 cm long. Pass 1,5-2 cm with a new thread. products, observing the weaving pattern and making fixing knots through several beads. The new thread should come out of the same bead as the old one. Weave 1,5-2 cm of the product with a new thread. Pass the old thread along the newly woven section of the product, also making fixing knots. Cut the end of the thread to the root. You can leave a tip 2-3 mm long and gently melt it with a lighted match, but it is better not to do this in products made with mosaic weaving. If the beads are light in color or with spraying, then it is also better not to melt the thread, since yellow traces may remain on the light beads, and the sprayed layer of paint can be damaged on the beads with spraying. When the ribbon is woven, sew a fastener to its ends, and decorate the middle with a bead pendant. It is more convenient to sew a bead with a thread with 2 needles at the ends. The bead fastening method is shown in Fig.19.2. In the middle of the thread, cast 3 beads, pass both needles into the hole of the bead, cast 2 more beads on them and attach the bead to the ribbon. Hide the remaining ends of the threads.
